Situated in three upland areas, around 150m above sea level between Barberino Val d'Elsa Certaldo near San Gimignano, is the family-owned Majnoni Guicciardini estate. Out of its 250 hectares about 28 are vineyards, 4.5 are olive groves, and 40 are allocated to Mediterranean woodland. The estate has been in the Majnoni family for several generations and is now managed by Pietro. The basic Chianti is made from a blend of Sangiovese with some Canaiolo and Colorino. It is very traditional in style with attractive warm fruit, nice peppery hints and cedar notes, and a lovely balance of tannins, acidity and fruit. (12 x 75 cl)
