Winemaker Fiona Turner has worked with Matt Thomson on many of the most successful wines made in Marlborough. The tinpot hut that gave its name to Fiona's brand is an old mustering hut in the remote hills between the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. These huts were used as a base for musterers, who were responsible for rounding up the sheep that had been in the hills from spring to autumn and bringing them down to the low paddocks for the winter. Delicious cool climate Syrah showing plenty of pepper and spice while it is balanced with intensity on the palate. (6 x 75 cl)

Mission Hill SLC Chardonnay British Columbia Canada
Description: S.L.C. stands for Select Lot Collect and this Chardonnay is a stylish wine with refinement and plenty of flavour. Rich and mouth filling, there is a core of pear, lime and roasted hazelnut flavours, all in a very elegant profile, finishing with just enough lively acidity to keep it in beautiful balance. These ultra-premium wines represent the height of the winemaking craft at Mission Hill Family Estate. Carefully selected fruit from designated vineyard lots is barrel aged in French oak to produce complex, balanced, age-worthy wines made with dedication and conviction. Grown in semi-desert conditions with less than 300 mm of rainfall, these rare wines are cultivated in the country's warmest appellation. (6 x 75 cl)

Seghesio Zinfandel Sonoma County California
Description: Cooler vineyard temperatures preserve zinfandel's juicy acidity and allowed for the grape tannins to mature on the vine while infusing scents of cracked black pepper and heightening zin's briary, spicy essence. Fine, ripe tannins add a velvety richness seldom found in Zinfandel, while the elegant richness, broad mouth feel and a lingering minerality elicit typicity that indicate superior grape growing. Savory purity of fruit with both aromas and flavours of blueberry and cherry abound. Fruit for this wine came from four estate vineyards: San Lorenzo, Home Ranch, Lone Oak and River Road in Alexander Valley and Cortina in Dry Creek Valley. Once in the winery the results of vinification and 12 months in oak; of which 75% was American and 25% French; is a good colour and soft, ripe tannins. The Seghesio Story begins in 1886 when Edoardo Seghesio departed his family's vineyards in Piedmonte, Italy for a new life in America. Like so many immigrants, he was drawn to Northern Sonoma County and the Italian Swiss Colony, to follow his passion for winemaking. The "colony," as it was known, hired immigrants for three year stints, providing room and board and then, a lump sum at the end of those three years enabling employees to buy land or set up a business in their new home. Soon, Edoardo rose through the ranks to winemaker. Yet, he yearned for home. The Colony's manager repeatedly encouraged him to stay and finally, it was his niece and the opportunity to purchase land that convinced Edoardo to remain. That young girl, Angela Vasconi and Edoardo were married in 1893. In 1895, they purchased a modest home in northern Alexander Valley, less for the home than the surrounding 56 acres Edoardo recognized as ideal vineyard land. They planted the "Home Ranch" that year to what has become the family's lifeline (12 x 75 cl)

A Mano Rosato di Puglia
Description: Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind Puglia's A Mano, have worked in the wine business for most of their lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian wine-marketing expert and Mark is Californian winemaker. They fell in love with Puglia, and when they decided to start their own brand, made it their home. Puglia has always been known for its Rosati so it was no surprise when Mark and Elvezia turned their attention to this style. The Rose is dry and perfumed, with more zip and freshness than most southern Italian rosati. Mark strikes a delicious balance between a muscular and textured style made from this classic southern grape variety (12 x 75 cl)
