Jim Barry THE McCRAE WOOD Shiraz Clare Valley Australia
Description: A deep red coloured wine with purple hues with sweet aromas of dark cherry, licorice and mint. The lovely aroma gives way to a rich and concentrated palate, with ripe cherry, licorice, and well balanced sweet vanillin oak, all underpinned by fine grained tannins and a long finish. Situated in the cool uplands of the North Mount Lofty ranges about 50 km north of Adelaide, the vineyards of Jim Barry were established in Clare in 1959. This is a family run winery who are committed to producing quality wines through an innovative approach to viticulture and winemaking technology. This Shiraz honours the vision of pioneer Clare Valley winemaker Jim Barry. In 1964 Jim purchased 70 acres of prime land from Duncan McRae Wood and planted his first vineyard with Shiraz. It was an inspired choice of both grape variety and location. (12 x 75 cl)

Arnaldo Caprai Montefalco RESERVA Rosso Umbria
Description: Montefalco Rosso Riserva is the result of years of in-depth research studies carried out by the Arnauldo Caprai winery to find the best growing conditions and wine-making techniques for the production of this elegant Sangiovese based wine. This wine proves that a noble variety such as Sangiovese can yield great qualitative results in Umbria too. Soft, elegant, with silky tannins and a lingering aftertaste, it shows notes of wild berries and spices beautifully brought together in a harmonious whole. The vinification process includes a prolonged period of fermentation and maceration , in order to achieve the best and most complete extraction of phenolics. After racking, the wine remains in stainless steel tanks for about 4 months. It is then aged in Large Slavonian and French Oak barrels for over 20 months. The wine has a ruby red with bright purple reflections colour and a fully developed nose with notes of intense wild berries and spices, well-balanced with a delicate aroma of vanilla. Full and well structured, long and harmoniously balanced this wine tastes superb. (6 x 75 cl)

Paul Cluver Cabernet Sauvignon Elgin RSA
Description: Due to the cool climate in Elgin the Cabernet Sauvignon is planted on a Northwest-facing slope, we also used the early ripening 163 clone and the rootstock also enhances earlier ripening. All this is done to ensure that we will get optimal ripeness even in our cooler climate. This wine shows typical Cabernet Sauvignon flavours, lots of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit on the nose and a well-integrated toastiness from the oak. The palate is very complex with hints of cedar wood and nuts with a well-structured body, packed with fruit and the after taste is long and lingering. (6 x 75 cl)
