Plantagenet Pinot Noir Great Southern Australia
Description: Gavin Berry works hardest on his Pinot Noir and certainly produces a wine to make Burgundians worry. Grapes, sourced from Mount Barker and Pemberton are transformed into a wine which combines richness of fruit and gamey complexity. 100% Pinot Noir the wine is made using open fermenters and plunged, while it is aged 35% in New Oak for 12 months with lees stirred . This has produced a light brick red showing a generous aroma of strawberry and dark cherries. Subtle floral spice, star anise and toasty characters are evident in the background. On the Palate Strawberry and dark cherry characters are in abundance complemented by underlying subtle mandarin peel accents. Firm but fine tannins, mouth-filling creamy texture and intense lingering flavours are to be found on the great finish.

Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino POGGIO alle MURA DOCG
Description: In 1978 John and Harry Mariani, successful American importers, joined forces with Italy's leading enologist, Ezio Rivella; their objective was to produce top-quality wine on a scale never before attempted in Italy. Castello Banfi is a rarity among Italian wine estates, not just because of its size , its composition of single vineyards, or its state-of-the-art winery, but because it was started from scratch a little over 25 years ago. At that time the Mariani Brothers were looking for an estate where the climate and soil had to be ideal for the cultivation of many of the world's noble grape varieties, and it had to be within a region of Italy that already had a tradition of quality winemaking. The 4,500 acres that the Mariani Brothers first found were near Montalcino, and eligible for the status DOCG of Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most prestigious of all Italian wines and it met the other criteria as well. By good luck the adjacent estate, of 2,600 acres, became available shortly afterwards and in 1984 the 11th century castle was the final purchase, and the estate was renamed Castello Banfi. Today Castello Banfi is producing a wide range of wines including Brunello di Montalcino that was Italy's first wine to be accorded D.O.C.G. status, a testament to its aristocracy, balance and fabulous proclivity for ageing. This wine is called 'Poggio alle Mura' to honour the historical name of the medieval fortress crowning the vineyard estate, the wine's vineyard runs down the slopes surrounding the castle (1 x 1.5 Litres)

Gallo Family Vineyards COPPERIDGE Red Zinfandel California
Description: After the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, Ernest & Julio Gallo started their winery in California. Unable to obtain bank loans, they rented a warehouse and bought equipment on credit. More than sixty years later, the Gallo family still controls one of the world's most successful wine companies. The Gallo philosophy of continual improvement saw Julio Gallo travelling throughout California seeking high quality grapes and vineyards; he came to the conclusion that Sonoma County has the finest growing area in California. Its complex geography provides an endless variety of growing conditions, and eleven viticultural appellations have been established in Sonoma (12 x 75 cl)
