Domaine Andre Perret Saint Joseph Blanc
Description: Andre Perret's winery is located in Verlieu-Chavanay, a small village just south of Vienne. He succeeded his father in 1982 with an estate of just half a hectare and today has 8 hectares spread through the Condrieu and St Joseph appellations. Recognised as one of the top producers in the area, Andre Perret's wines have that bit of extra concentration. He also somehow manages to combine this concentration with a great deal of finesse as befits a man whose unassuming personality consistently earns the respect of his peers. This wine is a blend of 50 % marsanne and 50 % roussanne with 2/3 of the production in stainless steel vat, the remaining third in oak barrel 12 months. This has produced a pale yellow coloured wine that has the scent of white flowers, honey and pears. An enjoyable wine it is remarkable for its delicious freshness on the palette. (12 x 75 cl)

Dean Hewitson MISS HARRY Barossa Valley South Australia
Description: The colour of Miss Harry is bright red with a purple hue. The aromas are high tones of ripe strawberry and red forest berries with spicy, smoky hints. The palate is wonderfully full, showing ripe strawberries and plums, and has a concentrated core of fruit essence that is soft and full. Flavours of fruit, spice and earth appear on the palate, creating a wine of great complexity and interest. The finish is long and soft. Barrel maturation in old, French barrels has increased the wine's complexity and refined its texture. The vintage in the Barossa Valley brings outstanding concentration to the traditional varieties of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. These varieties were picked at optimum maturity, fermented separately on their skins before finishing fermentation and malo-lactic fermentation in old French barriques then matured in these same barrels for about 10 months. The final blend proportions are 45% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 15% Mourvèdre. The Miss Harry continues the success of this beautifully structured, fruit-concentrated red wine that delivers wholeheartedly in a very approachable style. (12 x 75 cl)

Citra PALIO Pecorino Terre di Chieti Abruzzo IGT
Description: Citra is a co-operative at the forefront of the small number of Abruzzese producers who are turning out wines of style. The Citra range has a delicious simplicity and wide appeal. In addition, the co-operative are also calling on well researched methods such as barrel fermentation and barrique ageing Hand selected Pecorino grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must is fermented at a controlled temperature, after a short contact with skins at low temperature to produce a light yellow coloured wine with gilded nuances and greenish tones. The fragrant floral aromas are pleasantly fruity, with hints of mango, garden sage, acacia and exotic fruit. It presents a particular acid structure which makes it very fresh, pleasant and balanced with notes of minerals and exotic fruits. (6 x 75 cl)

Terre da Vino LA LUNA e I FALO Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOC Piemonte
Description: Established in 1980, Terre da Vino is an association of vineyard owners from DOC and DOCG estates in Piedmont. With 2,500 wine growers it cultivates more than 4,000 hectares organised into 14 Wine Co-operatives, located in the classic area of production. With a new modern winery and a focus on quality production from the vineyard to the bottle this is an exciting time for Terre da Vino. The grapes come from the classic Barbera area in the comuni of Nizza Monferrato, Agliano Terme, and Clamandrana, all in the province of Asti. This wine is blended from vineyards with slightly different soils and microclimates so that the final wine will offer a better balance between structural solidity and bouquet complexity. The vineyards utilised a total of 60 hectares , and are part of the company's 'Superbarbera' project where the Terre da Vino viticulturists rigerously select vineyard that have low yields and a commitment to quality. Vinification is traditional, with a 15-20 day maceration on the skins and a 28-30oC fermentation, followed quickly by the onset of malolactic. The wine then matures for about 12 months in small oak, about 1/3 new; here, the wine, already impressively structured, acquires a multi-layered depth of flavour and character, evolving into a richly-nuanced Barbera of grace and expressiveness. This wine is a ruby-edge purple colour with a rich and deep bouquet showing a complex balance of violet, liquorice, and vanilla notes. The palate is crisp and dry, with a subtly-veined background of vanilla and wild berries, which carry through to its lingering finish. Available in Magnum bottles. (1 x 1.5 Litres)
