Zwack Dobogo Furmint Tokaj Hungary
Description: The Furmint from Dobogo is a revelation for a dry Furmint and the best vintage yet of this wine. It is aromatic and elegant on the nose with good richness on the palate, where a touch of oak is used to give the lean Furmint fruit a hint of fleshiness. Light lemon yellow in colour, it has perfumes of vanilla, pears and oranges with some lime and a flinty, mineral note. On the palate it is dry and full-bodied with a lovely richness through to the finish. The Dobogo winery in Tokaj is owned by Izabella Zwack, the youngest member of the Zwack family. Her objective is to regain worldwide recognition for Tokaj and Hungarian winemaking. The name 'Dobogó' relates to ancient times when the hooves of horses pulling carts echoed throughout the landscape. (6 x 75 cl)

Torbreck THE FACTOR Shiraz Barossa Valley
Description: This wine is composed of 100% Shiraz and was first produced from the 1998 vintage. In the early 1980s valuable Australian Shiraz vineyards were pulled out because of lack of market interest. The movement to cool climate viticulture and wine made the Barossa, of all places, look rather irrelevant. However this trend reversed dramatically with the internationalization of the Australian wine market and renewed enthusiasm of local buyers. This is our tribute to those surviving vines and is made in the traditional Barossa manner , rich and rewarding upon release and beautifully ethereal with age. Varietal : 100 percent Shiraz Regions : Marananga, Koonunga Hill, Moppa, Gomersal (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse-de-Lalande 2eme Cru Classe Pauillac
Description: The Pichon Longueville estate goes back to 1688-69. In 1859 Virginie de Pichon Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande and her two sisters inherited three-fifths of the vineyard from their father. This took on the name of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. In 1978, May-Elaine de Lencquesaing, daughter of Edouard Miailhe, in turn inherited this beautiful property and devoted herself entirely to continuing the tradition of quality wine. Just two families have been responsible for maintaining this wine's superb reputation for three centuries. Bordering on Chateau Latour; second growth Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is located in the southern part of Pauillac, near Saint-Julien. The unusual choice of grapes varieties is a partial explanation for this wine's outstanding personality. Traditional methods combine with modern technology to make the most of this estate's prestigious soil. 20 months in oak barrels, 50% new wood. Gunzian gravel on clay soil. "...It possesses plenty of tannin, but the wine's overwhelming fruit richness dominates its personality. Could the 1996 turn out to be as extraordinary as the 1982?..." Parker, 96. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: A very quality concious domaine run by brothers Didier and Pascal, based in the small village of Chichee. Great care is taken to produce a wine with concentration and character. The Picq family knows that quality begins in the vineyard and through careful training and pruning, they have given this Chablis the breeding of a premier cru. Domaine Cazes MUSCAT DE RIVESALTES Rivesaltes
Description: Among a wide range of small producers the Cazes brothers have emerged as the leading name in Rivesaltes. Their estate of over 350 acres enables them to produce a variety of wines, yet it is through their sweet wines that they have gained popularity. These, known as Vins Doux Naturels, are wines of great concentration where the natural sweetness of the grape has been preserved. The production of these sweet, fortified wines is almost a Roussillon exclusivity, since 90 per cent of France's Vins Doux Naturels come from the Pyrénées Orientales departement in which Roussillon is found. For centuries, they have been made according to the process of fortification, a process discovered in 1285 by Arnau de Vilanova: the fermentation of grape juice is arrested by adding a quantity of neutral alcohol to between 5 and 10 per cent of the total volume. In this way the wine retains a proportion of the sugars that occur naturally in the fruit. Fortification may take place earlier or later, according to whether a sweet or medium-sweet wine is required, providing that the regulations regarding final alcohol content, which must be between 15% and 18% by volume, are respected. Pale gold in colour with aromas of lime, grapefruit, tropical fruit and fennel. The palate is rounded, rich and sweet without being cloying as the honey and apricot fruit is balanced with a limey acidity that keeps it fresh through to the soft finish. (6 x 75 cl)
