Faustino FORTIUS Blanco Navarra
Description: Don Eleuterio Martinez Arzok was born in Barriobusto. In 1861 he bought a house and lands in Oyon and founded the Faustino Group. At the turn of the century the vineyards were totally destroyed by phylloxera. His son Don Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz was born in 1904 and, in 1920, he helped his father rebuild and restore the vineyards. Faustino began bottling their wines in 1930 and by 1957 Don Julio Faustino Martinez, the third generation, took over the family business and in 1960, the Faustino brand was created in honour of his father. Today, the Faustino group owns several Bodegas including the 55 hectare estate Bodegas Valcarlos. This wine is clean and pale yellow in colour and has the aromas of fruits, fennel and apple. The wine is round and well balanced incorporating the classic Chardonnay grape with the freshness of the Viura grape. (12 x 75 cl)

Robert Skalli 'F' RANGE Merlot Vin de Pays D'Oc
Description: F., the most prestigious brand of Les Vins Skalli, was created in 1998 with the 1996 vintage. F. wines, christened in homage to Francis Skalli, father of Robert. Conceived to convey the timeless expression of great wines, F. is distributed in strictly limited quantities. F. wines epitomize the winemaking know-how of Les Vins Skalli venerable vines, patient vinification followed by eighteen months of aging in French oak barrels, under the expert advice of Michel Rolland, who assists Les Vins Skalli with winemaking. The vinification is traditional and involves long maceration periods in order to encourage the extraction of both the substance and the aromas. The wines are all vinified and aged separately for 18 months in French oak barrels. After one year, Skalli proceed with the definitive blending, which will melt together harmoniously during the last 6 months in barrels. A dark red coloured wine with a nose of small red fruit combined with nuances of caramel. A refined wine with a great ampleness which never ceases to expand throughout the tasting. The tannins, present but perfectly granular, contribute to this sensation of volume. Notes of toast and undergrowth. The finish is remarkable for its length marked by the perception of a refined touch of wood and jammy black fruit. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Cissac Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc
Description: The first traces of the building that is now Chateau Cissac and the village of Cissac go back as far as the Romans. In fact, the village of Cissac was a relatively important Roman settlement. Tombs have been found in the village and in the grounds dating from the period of Merovee, the father of Charlemagne. However, the house as we know it today dates from 1769 and Chateau Cissac extends over 50 hectares. It is from these vines that the Grand vin Chateau Cissac and its second wine, Reflets du Chateau Cissac are produced. The vines are about 30 years old with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot grape varieties grown on fine gravel over chalk. Each vine variety does not produce similar quantities each year. However, the proportions on the various single-variety wines that are assembled to make Chateau Cissac are strictly respected. There are ten huge wooden vats at Chateau Cissac, constructed in the great Medocain tradition. The hand picked grapes are Vinified in oak vats under temperature control then the wine is matured 18 months in barrels of which 30 to 40% are new. A Well-known traditional styled Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois with plenty of oaky character, strength and a good finish. Available in Original Wooden Case. (12 x 75 cl)
