Maison Bouachon ROQUEBRUSSANNE St Joseph
Description: The Bouachon family have maintained their stewardship of some of the finest wines in the Rhone since 1898. Maison Bouachon selects the finest terrains of the Rhône Valley for its wines, and for more than a century has enjoyed privileged links with the wine producers of this appellation. Facing the hillsides of Hermitage, spread over 40 kilometres, the vineyard of Saint Joseph is the largest on the right bank of the Northern Rhône. The terrain of Roquebrussane, given this nickname in the region to mean brown rock, is formed of steep shaley hills , enjoying exceptional sunshine and low yields. The vineyard has one single variety the fine-grained syrah of the North of the Rhône Valley that is very concentrated and aromatic. A fine robe of intense purple and a fruity bouquet of raspberry and blackcurrant, developing on notes of Underwood are the first things you notice about this wine. Full-bodied in the mouth, with aromas of ripe fruits, gingerbread, white pepper and tobacco, it has remarkable length in the mouth, developing into tertiary aromas of mint. (6 x 75 cl)

Concha y Toro ISLA NEGRA Sauvignon Blanc Semillon Chile
Description: This hand harvested blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon comes from selected vineyards of the Central Valley. Once in the winery this white wine spends 2 months in stainless steel at 15°C, with batonage and wine maker Adolfo Hurtado considered: 'A dual varietal white wine, this blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon is vibrant and has a fruity style. Bright and crisp yellow-green colour, this fresh wine brings together two very complementary varieties. Citrus fruit and peach cues from the Semillon are supplemented by delicate undertones of white flowers and the slight herbal zest from the Sauvignon. It’s a perfectly balanced and refreshing wine with a delicious and well achieved acidity.' (12 x 75 cl)

Windowrie THE MILL Cabernet Merlot Cowra New South Wales Australia
Description: The Mill Cabernet Merlot is an excellent example of the harmony these varietals can exhibit when blended. The colour is deep berry red and has aromas of fruit, spice and American Oak. The palate displays soft integrated oak with concentrated fruit and soft lingering finish. Growing Season The Cabernet fruit in this wine is sourced from the oldest vines on the estate. The vines are hand pruned in winter to ensure a small crop load while allowing sunlight into the canopy. The vines are then trained during the growing season with a bunch thinning occurring. The Cabernet was picked ripe in early April . The Merlot portion is also sourced from old vines trained to a Scott Henry Trellis System. Restricted Irrigation led to yield of 2.5t acre. The fruit was harvested in mid March. Winemaking The Cabernet and Merlot portions are both made separately until final blending which took place in February . The final blend contained 86% Cabernet and 14% Merlot. Both the Cabernet and Merlot were fermented in small open fermenters following crushing with the rollers open. The ferment was seeded with Bordeaux red yeast and maintained at 25-30ºC. Following ferment the wine was transferred to 2, 3 and 4 year old French and American barriques. The wine was racked every two months before final blending and bottling. (12 x 75 cl)

La Giustiniana VIGNETI MONTESSORA Gavi di Gavi Piemonte
Description: The Gavi di Gavi Vigneti Montessora is a wine that is delicate but intense on the nose, with flinty aromas. On the palate it is elegant, well-structured, and has incredible length. Like the best wines from this vintage, it has great depth on the palate yet good acidity and wonderfully expressive aromas. Grapes are grown in the estate’s Montessora vineyard where they are guyot trained at a density of 4000 vines/ha. Soils are mostly gravel with alluvial clay. The grapes were hand harvested in the last week of September, with yields of 30hl/ha. Donato Lanati, one of Italy’s best young consultants, began working with La Giustiniana at the beginning of 1998. His indelible stamp of quality has become increasingly evident in the intervening years. We are certain that the current quality, which puts this estate among the top handful in the zone, is a stepping-stone to new heights for La Giustiniana in particular and Gavi generally. (6 x 75 cl)
