Bodegas Faustino CAMPILLO Gran Reserva Rioja DO
Description: Don Eleuterio Martinez Arzok was born in Barriobusto. In 1861 he bought a house and lands in Oyon and founded the Faustino Group. At the turn of the century the vineyards were totally destroyed by phylloxera. His son Don Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz was born in 1904 and, in 1920, he helped his father rebuild and restore the vineyards. Faustino began bottling their wines in 1930 and by 1957 Don Julio Faustino Martinez, the third generation, took over the family business and in 1960, the Faustino brand was created in honour of his father. Today, the Faustino group owns several Bodegas including the 50 hectare estate Bodegas Campillo. 100% Tempranillo, aged 25 months in oak and then bottle aged this is a cherry-red coloured wine. This wine has good depth and generous notes of red berries and spices with the unmistakable presence of new wood is complemented by a complex aroma and elegant nose. Supporting this is the full-bodied tannic structure of toast and tobacco opening into a very pleasant aftertaste. (6 x 75 cl)

Rocche dei Manzoni BAROLO DOCG Vigna D'la Roul
Description: A classically structured Barolo. Refined aroma, assertive red in colour, robust, complex, powerful and intense. As a native of Piacenza, Valentino Migliorini was unconstrained by Langhe traditions when creating his state of the art cellar in Monforte. The estate is now one of the largest in Barolo, with 40 hectares owned and another 20 rented on a long-term basis, all in the commune of Monforte. Valentino’s pioneering spirit lead to his most famous creation: Bricco Manzoni, the barrique-aged blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera that have inspired many imitations. The Baroli are all superb in the modernist style, with clever use of new oak and powerful expression of the Monforte terroi (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Louis Moreau Grand Cru LES CLOS Chablis
Description: Tasting comments : The terroir of Les Clos is the most well-known and qualitative of the Grands Crus. It gives wines which are generous, dry and powerful. The very mineral bouquet lets appear a very delicate and long finish. The Grand Cru Les Clos can be drunk with a poularde with morels or with all other white saucy meat accompanied by wood mushrooms. Vinification methods : Louis MOREAU respectful of the tradition, uses the traditionnal way to vinify his Grands Crus. He applies the method which has been always used in Chablis, which is composed by 2 fermentations followed by a rest period during winter on fine lees. Due to the power and the complexity of this wine, Louis MOREAU ages it in French oak barrel during 2 months. This lightly barrel-ageing doesn't mask the wine and gives it more deepness and roundness which will enhance its character. (6 x 75 cl)

Dopff au Moulin CHATEAU DU MOULIN Alsace
Description: It was in the XVIIth century that Jean-Daniel Dopff, a minister's son, settled in Riquewihr as master-baker and innkeeper under the sign of The Stag. His son, Balthazard-Georges, born in Riquewihr in 1667, became master cooper and was thus the first to associate the name of Dopff with the wine professions. Four generations of Dopff succeeded each other in this line until Jean Dopff, two centuries later, took up the profession of 'gourmet', that is to say a wine merchant under oath. His son Jean Gustave took over the job, in his turn and dedicated himself to the task of building up the family domain. The Dopff enterprise was thus founded, and its history, closely linked to that of Riquewihr and its vineyards, was just beginning. Today, 3 generations manage the Dopff's estate: Pierre Dopff, the Managing Director, his son Pierre-Etienne, General Manager, and Etienne-Arnaud, Logistic and Development Manager, who was appointed at the beginning of the 1998 harvest. Wine growers, first and foremost, Dopff uphold the rigourous ethics of their profession, which means that only natural wines from the best grapes are produce under their name and that they are lovingly tended following the traditional methods. This wine is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Muscat from the estate's own vineyards. (6 x 75 cl)
