Maison Bouachon LES RABASSIERES Cotes du Rhone Blanc
Description: The Bouachon family have maintained their stewardship of some of the finest wines in the Rhone since 1898. The vines from which this vintage is produced have been rigorously selected on the right bank of the Rhône, as high up as Gard, a soil on which the finest white wines of the Côtes du Rhône are produced. On these clay/limestone and red-clay, stony terraces, these grape varieties are found in abundance. The ''Rabassières'' take their name from Rabasse that means ''truffle'' in Provencal. Predominantly grenache blanc . The viognier can be clearly detected by the palate and contributes to the aromatic complexity of the wine. Vinification is traditional. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures for the optimum extraction of the primary aromas of the fruits. The cuvee is bottled after blending. Platinum gold robe with attractive green shades. First nose very mineral, with aromas of citrus, white flowers , and quince paste. On the palate, the wine reveals a fine balance between fullness and a slight acidity, confirming flavours of quince paste and crystallised fruits. The finish is very long with aromas of pear and apricot. (6 x 75 cl)

Description: A wine produced solely from the Garnacha grape variety. This wine is a blend from three vineyards whose origens go back to the beginning of the 20th Century, with a total quantity of 5.500 vines. Harvest takes place in the fourth week of September. Production is limited to 10.000 bottles. Traditional wine making method undertaken, fermented at 28ºC in temperature controlled stainless steel deposits, followed by a four week maceration period with skin contact. A clear and bright cherry red colour and the aromas are potent, strongly reflecting the grape variety with spicy hints afforded by the ageing in oak casks and the maturing in bottle.
