Lerane Terret/Viognier Vin de Pays d'Oc
Description: Lerane is based in Carcassonne in the Languedoc region in the South of France, with access to some of the most consistent, quality conscious grape growers and vineyard sites. The aim every year is to select the finest quality to obtain the best results in the Lérane blends. Grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness, before the acidity starts to wane, and upon reception the grapes are gently crushed and then the must is left overnight to settle in a refrigerated steel tank. Fermentation is temperature controlled and the wine sees no oak while the final blend of 50% Terret and 50% Viognier is then filtered and fined before bottling. The wine is a straw yellow colour with an enticingly aromatic nose reminiscent of peach blossom, ripe apples and white stone fruit. The palate is round and juicy offering a delightful concentration of peach and pear fruit and some hints of tropical lychees, all bound up with a crisp citrus acidity that keeps the wine refreshingly clean. (6 x 75 cl)

Querciabella CAMARTINA Tuscana IGT
Description: Querciabella, founded in 1974 began life as a 1 hectare vineyard but today has 26 hectares of vines producing great wine with an international reputation. Concentrating on small yields where the emphasis is placed on concentration and richness of the fruit, the vineyard is run according to biodynamic priciples that exceed the European Standard.. Querciabella is a Chianti Classico DOCG that presently produces four wines from the vineyards of its Chianti Classico estate in Greve in Chianti. Batar is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc; Chianti Classico; Camartina a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon while Palafreno, a new release, is a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. Great care is taken from the vineyard to the winery when producing this wine as the grapes are carefully selected in the vineyards, hand harvested and put into 8 kilo crates. Then the grapes are destemmed, but not crushed, and the very best parcels are conveyed into temperature controlled stainless steel vats. After fermentation the wine is transferred to barriques, here the different cepages undergo separate elevage for one year. At this stage, the best lots, selected through extensive tasting and assembled into the final blend, where they undergo another year of elevage. Finally, the wine is aged in French Oak that comes from Allier, Nevers, and Troncais using 80% new and 20% one year old barrels. The wine is regularly racked and tasted during the whole barrel maturation and after bottling the wine rests for about six months before release . A Ruby red Super Tuscan, this wine is blend of 50% Sangiovese; 45% Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a little Merlot and Syrah. A nose of earth and leather as well as oak give way to the ripe fruit flavours on the palate and good tannin structure culminating in a powerful and long finish. Magnum bottles available in Original Wooden Case. (6 x 1.5 Litres)

Domaine de Maltaverne L'AMMONITE Pouilly-Fume
Description: Grassy Sauvignon characteristics on the nose lead to a rich and ripe yet clean, crisp palate. Can be decanted as oxygenation will underline the concentrated flavours and will also develop in bottle for a few years. Produced by M Gilles Maudry, a fine craftsman of Sauvignon Blanc. The vines in this small estate in the village of Maltaverne are on average 60 years old and with small yields and minimum intervention a top flight Pouilly Fume is produced. Organically-grown grapes are harvested by hand and after gentle pressing, fermentation takes place using only natural yeasts. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is left on its lees for 8-9 months before bottling. Crisp and dry white wine with fine and complex structure. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Chandon de Briailles LES BRESSANDES Grand Cru Corton
Description: The de Nicolay family has owned the domaine since 1834 when they bought the Manoir. Today Claude de Nicolay Drouhin, who took over from her mother, Comtesse Nadine, in 1990, oversees the viticulture and viniculture. By common consent she has continued to raise the standards of the estate to new heights. The vineyard is spread over the communes of Savigny, Pernand and Aloxe Corton. There are some 13 hectares, planted mainly with Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay in "Ile des Vergelesses", "Corton Bressandes" and, a very recent addition, "Charlemagne". Winemaking follows traditional practice: red grapes are macerated for five days before the alcoholic fermentation in open cement tanks. The free -run wine is then settled in stainless steel before moving to cask (6 x 75 cl)
