Faustino FORTIUS Gran Reserva Navarra
Description: Don Eleuterio Martinez Arzok was born in Barriobusto. In 1861 he bought a house and lands in Oyon and founded the Faustino Group. At the turn of the century the vineyards were totally destroyed by phylloxera. His son Don Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz was born in 1904 and, in 1920, he helped his father rebuild and restore the vineyards. Faustino began bottling their wines in 1930 and by 1957 Don Julio Faustino Martinez, the third generation, took over the family business and in 1960, the Faustino brand was created in honour of his father. Today, the Faustino group owns several Bodegas including the 55 hectare estate Bodegas Valcarlos. This wine will spend 24 months in cask followed by 36 months in the bottle. A cherry-garnet red coloured wine with tawny reflections, it has intense aromas of ripe fruit with smokey and spicy notes. A tasty, highly expressive and rounded wine the long finish is highly enjoyable. (6 x 75 cl)

Description: Domaine Eric de Suremain produces Chateau de Monthelie a wine showing juicy bitter sweet cherry flavours as well as blackberries and cream it is very enticing and has immense charm. There is no doubt that Eric de Suremain is a real character and very much a 'hands-on' man. Every year, after negotiating the tight squeeze through the gates of the splendid Chateau de Monthelie, there is a grinning, short-clad Eric de Suremain. He wears shorts come hell or high water, hail, wind or rain. You only have to observe his soil-encrusted hands to realise that he spends his entire life in the vineyard and wine is definitely his passion. The bio-dynamic viticultural methods he set in place since 1996, has produced some of the Cote d'Or's lowest yields . Rigorous grape selection and a minimal intervention winemaking policy conspire to produce some of the purest, finest and most complex Burgundy wines available. This passion has produced a wine of dark almost blackberry juice colour while the nose is showing fir and dark fruit. This Pinot Noir is juicy with good tannic structure and in the mouth the dark fruit continues into the long complex finish. (12 x 75 cl)
