Chateau du Seuil Graves AC
Description: Welsh owner Bob Watts, has enthusiastically adopted new world techniques, making approachable, fruit driven wine. The Chateaux Du Seuil vines are planted on a south-facing slope over looking the Garonne river next to the medieval village of Rions. There are 10.0 hectares with some of the vines up to 80 years old and yields are kept low reflecting a preference for higher quality grapes with greater intensity of flavour at harvest time. The Vineyards are planted with approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are predominantly gravelly slopes, ensuring excellent drainage. The small amount of clay present between the pebbles constitutes just enough water heat of summer. The red grapes are hand and machine picked, these are left to ferment on their skins for 15 days under temperature controlled conditions in stainless steel tanks and then some of the wine is aged in oak. The Oak aged wine is then re-blended prior to bottling to add greater complexity to the wine. Bottled for approximately 9 months after the vintage to retain all the fresh fruity flavours and aromas .The wine is fruity with soft integrated tannins giving a long fine aftertaste. (12 x 75 cl)

Pieropan Soave Classico Veneto
Description: This Soave Classico is a bright, very pale gold colour, with youthful greenish lights. On the nose it is delicately perfumed, with aromas of white flowers, and almondy notes characteristic of good Soave Classico. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wine, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. This was an excellent vintage, producing wines with a beautiful balance of fruit and zesty freshness which lasts through to the finish. Nobody else has spent the past 35 years getting to know Garganega and the vineyards of Soave Classico in the same intimate detail as Nino Pieropan. He ensures that his work in the cellar retains and amplifies the quality and style provided by the vineyard. The vineyards are planted primarily with Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave . (12 x 75 cl)

Knappstein Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Clare Valley South Australia
Description: Tasting Note A classic Clare Cabernet with concentrated full-bodied mulberry and blackberry fruit, deep chocolaty vanilla oak and smooth, juicy tannins all lifted by some tell-tale Aussie eucalyptus character. 14.5% Knappstein have been making this flagship Single Vineyard wine since 1974, and it is nearing its 30th birthday with a cracking 2003 vintage. Planted back in 1979, the Enterprise Vineyard is located on a warm site in the Clare Valley over iron-rich limestone soils and every year produces fabulous, concentrated grapes with bags of flavour. Big and bold, the wine spends two years in new oak to add further power and luxury to the palate and ensure it keeps its place in the pantheon of great Aussie reds. The man at the helm Knappstein, Paul Smith, learnt his trade working with luminaries such as Brian Croser and Jeffrey Grosset. A paid up member of the Clare Valley Appreciation Society, Paul showed he had the midas touch by releasing the Single Vineyard Watervale Riesling in his first vintage in charge in 2004, which carried off the Gold Medal at the Clare Valley Wine Show. With three vintages now under his belt, Paul's influence can be seen across the range and quality and consistency have never been higher. (6 x 75 cl)

Yalumba HAND PICKED Shiraz Viognier Barossa Valley South Australia
Description: The concept of blending Shiraz and Viognier is not new. It is derived from the great French wine region of Northern Rhone, in particular, the Cote Rotie area. Cote Rotie has often been described as one of France's finest and most perfumed red wines. W I N E S T Y L E Yalumba Hand Picked Shiraz + Viognier 1999 is deep cherry red in colour with purple hues. Lifted floral aromatics surround ripe fleshy plums, chocolate and dried fruits. On the palate, fine tannins support the intense flavours of ripe cherries, liquorice, anise and violets. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will benefit from medium term cellaring. The addition of Viognier to Shiraz intensifies the colour, adds an extra dimension and a wonderful fragrance to the bouquet, and brings softness to the rich and powerful Barossa Shiraz. This rare blend from Yalumba of 87% Shiraz and 13% Viognier is 100% Barossa, with the majority of the fruit sourced from the Eden Valley. (6 x 75 cl)

Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir Walker Bay Hermanus RSA
Description: After a long search for the ideal terrior founder Tim Hamilton Russell purchased 170 hectares of undeveloped land near the fisihing village of Hermanus in 1970. Hamilton Russell Vineyards, one of the most southerly in South Africa, are in the Walker Bay district 3km inland from the south Atlantic. Here, the vineyards enjoy the benefits of close proximity to the sea. This is a dark, spicy, complex wine full of primary fruit aromas that mingle with hints of the alluring 'primal' character. Low yields and clay-rich soils have resulted in a little tightness for this wine that has elevated length to balance the richness. Tiny yields and high world wide demand means that only limited quantities of this wine are available. (6 x 75 cl)
