Skillogalee Riesling Clare Valley South Australia
Description: This dry white wine was made from hand-picked Riesling fruit from low yielding vines which grow on the highest slopes of the vineyard at Skillogalee . The vines are hand-pruned and the fruit is hand-picked. On the nose there are lively fresh lime citrus aromas with hints of perfume and bath-powder. The palate has intense fruit flavours with mineral touches balanced by refreshing acidity giving a crisp, dry, lingering finish. Skillogalee is a 60 hectare property located within South Australia's Clare Valley wine region. Within this region, it occupies the western extreme of the Sevenhill sub-region and is bounded on the western side by the Spring Gully Conservation Park, home of the rare Red Stringy Bark gum tree. It is around 8km south of Clare township and about 135km due north of Adelaide. In the early 1840's, the pioneer and explorer John Horrocks settled at Penworththam, named after his home town in England. From here, he explored further north in the Flinders ranges, using Afghan camels and looking for land suitable for settlement. On one such expedition, Horrocks' party was beset by illness, injuries and bad weather. Having run short of provisions, they survived only by making a 'skillogalee' or 'skilly' (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine de Font Sane TERRASSES des DENTELLES Gigondas
Description: Veronique Peysson, assisted by her father, is at the helm of the domaine, simultaneously juggling the demands of family life and the making of Gigondas, the highlight of their range. Results of the research, which her geologist brother-in-law had undertaken on the soils of Gigondas, showed that out of the seven best terroirs, her vines are grown on five of them. The Gigondas Cuvee Futee is the top cuvee and comes from the vineyards which lie at the foot of the Dentelles, on clay-limestone soils facing North and South. This Gigondas has notes of sweet black fruit and is full-bodied with well-integrated, rounded tannins and a spicy finish (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Georges Vernay COTEAU de VERNON Condrieu
Description: Georges Vernay created the family business with 1.5 hectares of AOC Condrieu 'Coteau du Vernon' vineyards. Towards the end of the 1940's, Georges became one of the most ardent defenders and saviours of the Appellation, then about to disappear. Today, the vinification is assured by his children Luc and Christine Vernay and they now own 16 hectares undervine throughout the region. However, 7 hectares are in the appellation Condrieu, of which 3 hectares are old vines. This vineyard produce two prestigious vintages, called the 'Coteau de Vernon' and 'Les Chaillées de l'Enfer'. Both vintages represent the quintessence of Condrieu's Viognier vine. These exquisite incomparable white wines with their golden colour are of great nobleness, full-bodied, unctuous and persistent. This wine comes from 40 year-old vines grown on steep granite slopes that can only be worked manually. Maturation in cask on fine lees gives a full-flavoured wine, while retaining the fresh fruit characteristic of top Viognier. (12 x 75 cl)
