Chateau Citran Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc
Description: Limited Availability. When walking in the chateau grounds it is obvious that its history goes further back than the 1855 classification. Citran is actually one of the Medoc's oldest seigneuries. Numerous Marquis de donnissan, related to the family of France, reigned here for 600 years and only abandoned their chateau in the middle of the 18th century. Since then the chateau has gone through several owners until today when the Merlaut-Villars family, well known in the Medoc, purchased the vineyard. They are true connoisseurs of wine and land. A symbol of this old cru Bourgeois wine's new-found youth is the arrival of young Céline Villars who now represents the chateau. The Citran vineyards are divided into two. One plot is adjacent to the Margaux appellation and is very near to the Chateau. The other is close to the town of Avensan, at the heart of the Haut-Medoc appellation. Cabernet Sauvignon covers 58% of the 90 hectares, and Merlot just 42% with the average vine age being 20 years old. In a never ending race towards quality, the work is never finished, and even now the gravel crests are being deforested to plant new Cabernet Sauvignon vine plants. The grapes are picked by hand and barrel aged for 12 months in 40% new barrels each vintage. Chateau Citran has produced a dark red fruity, spicy wine, with a great complexity of aromas, well balanced between the fruits and tannin, long at the palate, and overall harmonious and fine. (12 x 75 cl)

Fattoria Dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino
Description: The Colombini family has had properties in Montalcino since 1352 and has owned the Fattoria dei Barbi since 1790. The vineyards cover an area of 100 hectares, approximately 35% of the whole estate. The exposure is east, south-east and the soil type is composed prevalently of Galestro with small components of mud and clay, only a minor part of it has a relevant presence of eocenic sands. This red wine has been produced since 1892 and has won many awards. It is made with 100% Sangiovese grapes from Fattoria dei Barbi's best vineyards in Montalcino. The wine is aged for three years in oak barrels followed by a further 12 months in the bottle. The 1995 vintage is a deep red colour wine with a bright nose full of flowery notes. Good Tannic structure and acidity are evident as is the fruit that provides good balance culminating in a great finish.

Jean-Claude Boisset Vosne Romanee AC
Description: The village of Vosne-Romanée is located at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, between Vougeot and Nuits-Saint-Georges. It is at an ideal altitude for the vines , and covers a little over 150 hectares. The soils have a high limestone and clay content. Fruit is sourced from a selection of old vines. The grapes are hand picked in September and put into small perforated boxes. Patriat has two sorting tables, with 10 people per table, looking for any grape that isn't fit to go into the fermenting vat. For reds, he de-stems completely , and returns the whole, uncrushed grapes into the boxes into which they were picked and then tips them into open wooden foudres. No yeasts, enzymes or tannins are added, to avoid altering the character of the must. The cold soak lasted for 5-6 days. Patriat doesn't plunge during this first week, as he thinks only bitter tannins are extracted at this stage. Once fermentation starts, the cap is plunged by foot . Maceration lasted for 3 weeks. The wine was matured in barrel for sixteen months . The wine is lightly filtered before bottling. (6 x 75 cl)
