Louis Latour Moulin a Vent LES MICHELONS Beaujolais
Description: Moulin-à-Vent is one of the 10 individual growths in the Beaujolais that constitute the highest ranking wines of the area due to their complexity and greater potential for ageing. The appellation of Moulin-à-Vent straddles the communes of Romanèche-Thorins and Chénas, taking its name from the old windmill in the heart of the vineyards. Les Michelons is a single vineyard chosen by Maison Louis Latour for its ideal southerly exposure and gently inclined slope. The wine has a remarkably deep richness of bouquet and intense savour requiring some ageing to reveal its full potential. It is the longest lived of all Cru Beaujolais (12 x 75 cl)

Dopff au Moulin Gewurtraminer de Riquewihr SELECTION DE GRAINS NOBLES Alsace
Description: It was in the XVIIth century that Jean-Daniel Dopff, a minister's son, settled in Riquewihr as master-baker and innkeeper under the sign of The Stag. His son, Balthazard-Georges, born in Riquewihr in 1667, became master cooper and was thus the first to associate the name of Dopff with the wine professions. Four generations of Dopff succeeded each other in this line until Jean Dopff, two centuries later, took up the profession of 'gourmet', that is to say a wine merchant under oath. His son Jean Gustave took over the job, in his turn and dedicated himself to the task of building up the family domain. The Dopff enterprise was thus founded, and its history, closely linked to that of Riquewihr and its vineyards, was just beginning. Today, 3 generations manage the Dopff's estate: Pierre Dopff, the Managing Director, his son Pierre-Etienne, General Manager, and Etienne-Arnaud, Logistic and Development Manager, who was appointed at the beginning of the 1998 harvest. Wine growers, first and foremost, Dopff uphold the rigourous ethics of their profession, which means that only natural wines from the best grapes are produce under their name and that they are lovingly tended following the traditional methods. The botrytised ripe fruit nose gives way to white tropical fruit flavours on the palate, sophisticated acidity and finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Kaapzicht STEYTLER VISION Stellenbosch RSA
Description: The 174 ha estate has mainly north facing slopes on fertile granite soil with an ideal climate for quality grapes. In the South African prestigious Veritas awards in 1999, Kaapzicht were awarded a double gold and two gold medals. Kaapzicht is situated up in the Bottelary Hills with magnificent views towards Table Mountain. The farm was first mentioned in 1712 and was purchased by the Steytier family in 1946. The ever modest, dedicated family team consists of Danie making the wine, his brother George the viticulturist and Danie's wife Yngvild responsible for sales and marketing. They all live on the farm with a menagerie of animals and an open house to friends and family. Success could not have come to nicer or more hard working people. This wine is a belnd of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Pinotage and 10% Merlot. The three grapes were vinified and aged in small French oak barrels separately. Next they were blended together after 17 months in French oak. Lively deep purple colour, this wine has a clean and reserved nose with good cassis, berries and a hint of chocolate. Ripe fruit, spice and layered oak create wonderful complexity. Full bodied, big bold wine with rich ripe vibrant fruit, the balance of the fruit and tannin is excellent. This is a classy, elegant expression of a Cape blend with a long lingering finish (6 x 75 cl)
