Chateau Lynch Bages 5eme Cru Classe Pauillac
Description: Overlooking the Gironde estuary at the entrance to Pauillac the vines of Lynch-Bages are located on the Bages plateau, on one of the finest gravelly rises in the appellation. The estate once belonged to the famous Lynch family, of Irish origin, and was acquired by Jean Charles Cazes in 1934. His grandson, Jean-Michael Cazes, restructured the estate in 1974 adding state of the art winemaking equipment, while keeping the former wooden vats as a reminder of the nineteenth century. The grapes are all hand picked and then carefully sorted before crushing. A very strict selection is made prior to blending and the wine is traditionally aged in oak barrels for 15 months before bottling. Garonne gravel. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Chateau Rieussec CARMES DE RIEUSSEC Sauternes AC
Description: The second wine of Chateau Rieussec Carmes de Rieussec is selected according to the same standards as the first wine. Its constant feature is centred on a fine aromatic structure dominated by citrus aromas. The name, Carmes de Rieussec, relates to the monks of the Carmes de Langon, who were owners of the Rieussec estate in the 18th century. A blend of Semillon 85%, Sauvignon Blanc 10% and a little Muscadelle 5% this wine has spent 18 months in barrel. This is an intense golden yellow coloured wine that is showing preserved fruit on the nose, with hints of apricot. The nose develops on the palate as the range of flavours deliver a harmonious well-rounded first impression. In the 18th century, the Rieussec estate belonged to the Carmes de Langon monks. The confiscation of the estate during the revolution led to its public sale around 1790 as an 'object of national heritage' to Mr. Marheilhac, the period’s owner of Château La Louvière at Leognan. For the 1855 classification, M. Mayne was the owner of the estate. The quality of the Rieussec soil earned its ranking as a first growth Sauternes and Barsac. After that date, Rieussec’s history involves many change of owners. Acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild in 1984 the estate then included 110 hectares of which 68 hectares were vineyards. To enhance Chateau Rieussec’s potential, stern measures were implemented, including meticulous sorting of seeds and fermenting in barrels, which provides a superior selection for blending fine wines as well as a new chai being built to extend ageing in barrels. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)

La Spinetta CA di PIAN Barbera D'Asti Piemonte
Description: The Rivetti family story begins in the 1890s, when Giovanni Rivetti, grandfather of the three Rivetti brothers, Carlo, Bruno and Giorgio, left Piedmont for Argentina. Like many Italians of that time, he dreamed of returning rich and a powerful man, perhaps even one day able to make a great wine in his homeland. He never did, though his son, Giuseppe did. Pin married Lidia, bought vineyards and began to make wine. In 1977 the family took up residence at La Spinetta in Castagnole Lanze and still run the estate today. This Barbera has spent 12 months entirely in new, medium toasted French oak to produce a ruby red coloured wine with purple reflections. A very dense bouquet is showing scents of Marasca cherry, violets followed by plum. The palate fresh and fruity while the acidity is balanced by generous alcohol and mild tannins. (6 x 75 cl)
