Clos du Mont Olivet CUVEE de PAPET Chateauneuf-du-Pape AC
Description: The wines of Mont Olivet have gained the reputation as one of the very best Chateauneuf-du-Papes. Mont Olivet has been made in the traditional style by the Sabon family dating back to 1547. The current winemakers are the sons of the legendary Joseph Sabon. The flagship wine, Cuvee Papet, is made predominantly from Grenache with the addition of Syrah and Mourvedre. Vergelegen Sauvignon Blanc Western Cape RSA
Description: This wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc and a little Semillon and is a pale green colour with a nose that jumps out of the glass. It is showing gooseberries, fig, tinned peas, black truffle, elderflower, some ripe fruits, cut grass, green pepper while the wine is full, intensely flavoured and very long on after taste. The Vergelegen vineyards are located on south or south-west facing slopes and this Sauvignon blanc is selected from both Vergelegen’s own vineyards in Somerset West and selected vineyards on the West Coast near the town of Koekenaap, approximately 400 km from Vergelegen. The grapes are picked when the desired flavours are showing at optimum. No skin contact is employed as they believe this technique leads to coarse wines. The juice is settled for 72 hours at low temperatures before inoculation with the desired yeast strain for Sauvignon grapes. To avoid conformity with other SA producers, they ferment at higher temperatures. This leads to fuller, bigger and more intensely-flavoured wines. Vergelegen, meaning 'situated far away', was granted to the Governor of the Cape in 1700 and the property has had a long and fascinating history since that time. Original owner Willem Adriaan Van der Stel, was a man of divergent interests who transformed the uncultivated land into a veritable paradise. He planted vines, camphor trees and oaks, laid out fruit orchards and orange groves, and introduced cattle and sheep, while today it is owned by Angolo America Farms. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Like a dark forest full and rich with wild dark berries, this wine is intensely scented with cedar wood, wet tobacco, chocolate and finishes with a soft, spicy edge. In making this wine a more gentle approach was followed to ensure we did not extract too much tannin during fermentation. Montresor OTTELLA Lugana
Description: Il bianco de l'Otela, as the old inhabitants of Northern Italy's Peschiera sometimes called it, is none other than the Trebbiano di Lugana of the Montresor family, winegrowers for many generations, and the tradition continues. Franscesco left the legal profession and, with his father Ludovico, has dedicated all of his time to the pursuit of the highest quality wines. The Ottella Lugana, thanks to the care dedicated to the vineyard, to the harvest , and to the wonderful nature of the soil, which is born of great distinction. The Montresor family vinifies all the grapes from their own 25 hectares of vineyards and those of longtime growers, in order to guarantee that the highest quality wine possible is derived from the terreno. In this unexpectedly benign climate the much-maligned variety Trebbiano can flourish, especially if it is grown with care and not permitted to over-produce. Here is a beautiful example of the result: a very aromatic bouquet introduces mild, somewhat broad flavors to the palate. The wine is quite dry, but not particularly hard edged, and in a forthright and attractive way makes its case for its grape and soil, and its producer, who must be complemented for coaxing such balance into being. Montana TERRACES ESTATE Pinot Noir Marlborough
Description: This is the first release of this hand-crafted wine which will be made only in the finest vintages, it is sourced from Montana's finest Marlborough vineyards, Booker Block Terraces and Fairhall Estate. This flagship Pinot Noir shows complexity and concentration of flavours with sweet fruit and silky tannins. The growing season started with fine, settled weather over the flowering and fruit set period. The summer was wetter than normal, but this was followed by an ideal, long, dry autumn. Cool nights over the autumn period promoted excellent varietal intensity, ripe flavours and balanced acidity levels. This wine uses only French barriques, all were fine grained and three year seasoned oak, sourced from a number of coopers of which 40% of the oak was new, the balance one and two-years old. For the first two months the barrels were lees stirred, which helped to develop the wine's structure. The wine then remained in oak for 12 months, prior to the components being racked out and blended. This Pinot Noir is a deep garnet red colour with aromas of dark berry fruit, savoury spice and hints of chocolate and coffee. The palate shows rich, dark plum and berry fruit coupled with integrated, complex savoury oak. There is great concentration of flavour, with silky tannins giving a velvety mouth feel. (6 x 75 cl)
