Specogna Friulano Colli Orientali del Friuli
Description: This Friulano is an outstanding wine. It has a rich, nutty perfume, with hints of straw and elderflower which give way to an intense, structured palate that finishes powerfully and long. Grapes for the Specogna Friulano are grown on a small 3 hectare vineyard approximately 80-150 m above sea level on a north east facing slope. The soils here are limestone and marl. Specogna waits until the grapes are very ripe before picking, to maximise fruit character. The Specogna family now has 15 hectares of vineyard on the hill of Rocca Bernarda in the heart of the Colli Orientali DOC zone in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia. The quality of the fruit grown by Graziano Specogna and his family is impeccable and Specogna waits until the grapes are very ripe before picking, to maximise fruit character.
