Domaine Fichet is located in Burgundy in the small village of Ige, and more precisely in the hamlet of Martoret. From a long line of wine-growers, only Francis Fichet took the risk of creating his own domaine withdrawing from the co-operative winery of the village during 1976. He prospered and the domaine now totals about 11 ha of vines, of which 3/4 are Gamay and Pinot Noir, the rest is Chardonnay. The various varietals can be found on the two slopes that surround the domaine. The south-east facing slope , with its clay and limestone soil, is planted mainly to red varietals, Gamay and Pinot Noir as well as a portion of the whites . The south-west facing slope , is planted with Chardonnay vines which require more sun. The soil is rich in limestone and chalk which encourages the expression of the vine and favours terroir wines. A nice reflection of the terrior this yellow coloured wine is full of fruity aromas that develop on the palate culminating in an enjoyable finish. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Guicciardini Strozzi VIN SANTO San Gimignano
Description: Vin Santo is produced in limited quantities according to a very old traditional method. After careful selection of the malvasia, trebbiano and san colombano grapes, they are left to wither on rush matting until the following Junuary. The grapes are then pressed and the must is stored in small kegs where it is left to age for at least five years. The wine is usually drawn from the kegs during Easter and this is probably the origin of its name (12 x 75 cl)

Vesevo Sannio Falanghina Campania
Description: Sannio Falanghina from Vesevo is scented and zingy, yet has the sort of depth of flavour seldom found in this grape. Cooler fermentation temperatures than are the norm in Italy result in a purity of fruit being captured in the wine. Unoaked, this wine is a definitive example of the native Falanghina variety. Despite being so far south, the Irpinian hills of Campania is one of the last regions in Italy to harvest. Vesevo’s vineyards are situated at between 450 and 550 metres above sea level, and are always subject to a cool breeze that blows off the Bay of Naples. The flavours obtained in the vineyard are then preserved in the winery by Mario Ercolino – formerly winemaker at, and co-founder of, I Feudi di San Gregorio. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Potensac Cru Bourgeois Medoc
Description: Chateau Potensac is owned by the Delon family, owner of the illustrious estates Leoville-Las Cases, in St Julien, and Nenin, in Pomerol. Like Sociando-Mallet, Potensac is yet another chateau which illustrates the defunct nature of the 1855 classification of Bordeaux. Potensac regularly turns out wines of classed growth quality, but has only a Cru Bourgeois designation, although in the most recent Cru Bourgeois classification, in 2003, it was accorded Cru Bourgeois Exceptionel status. The vineyards of Potensac are located in Ordonnac in Médoc. The blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with approximately 40% Merlot and Cabernet Franc combined. Production from just over 120 acres of vineyard amounts to 25000 cases per year. There are many reasons why Potensac is so successful, but like all great wines the success has its roots in the vineyard. Restricted yields of approximately 35 hl/ha, however, is just the start of it. Temperature controlled fermentation and rigorous selection for the 'grand vin' are other important factors. Michel and Jean-Hubert Delon eschew filtration, although they do fine the wines using egg whites, an acceptable and widely used practice. (12 x 75 cl)
