Concha y Toro ISLA NEGRA Reserve Chardonnay Chile
Description: This hand harvested wine is a single varietal Chardonnay selected from the Santa Elisa Estate El Marco Estate vineyards. Once in the winery this wine spends 4 months in stainless steel at 10°C. with pumping over twice a week and wine maker Adolfo Hurtado considered: 'This clean-cut, young wine is bright yellow-green in colour. It is fresh and crisp and conveys the aromatic richness of mango, pineapple, citrus and a touch of fennel. In the mouth, the sweet and citric components complement each other providing a delicious, balanced and lingering taste. Grown in the cooler spots of Chile’s Central Valley, this is a Chardonnay with a strong varietal identity.' (12 x 75 cl)

Tommasi Viticoltori Valpolicella Classico DOC
Description: Tommasi Viticoltori is a family firm founded in 1902 by Giacomo Tommasi and today the estate is run by the 4th generation of family. From grandfather Giacomo's tiny vineyard, the Tommasi estate has grown steadily and now extends over 135 hectares of hillside vineyard blessed by mother nature, not only by a magnificent landscape, but more importantly by its perfect suitability for grapes. The family owns exceptionally well situated estates for the production of high quality white wine in the D.O.C. regions of Soave and near Lake Garda for Lugana, Custoza and Bardolino . In addition, it has vineyards in Valdadige, a valley created by the Adige river in the mountains north of the province of Verona. This blend of Corvina , Rondinella and Molinara spends 6 months maturation in stainless steel tanks followed by a further 6 months ageing in Slavonian oak barrels. This has produced a ruby red coloured wine with a rich spicy nose and intense, spicy, sweet cherry flavours. A well balanced red wine it is full of ripe fruit flavours that give way to on the long finish.

Matt Thomson PONTE PIETRA Merlot Corvina del Veneto
Description: The Merlot/Corvina has a lovely, vibrant colour and a ripe, fresh nose. The wine’s cherry blossom perfume, characteristic of great Corvina from Verona, mingles with a soft, blackberry fruit. Soft and attractive on the palate, it has sufficient weight to partner a wide range of pasta and rice dishes, particularly the risotto dishes for which this area is known. These wines are made by Matt Thomson, at the Cantina di Monteforte. Verona’s ‘Ponte Pietra’ dates back to Roman times. The vine, however, has been planted on the hills outside of Verona for much longer than this bridge has spanned the Adige River. This fresh, vibrant and easy drinking wine is firmly within this long tradition of Veronese viniculture. (12 x 75 cl)

Montes CLASSIC SERIES Malbec Colchagua Chile
Description: 85% Malbec plus 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Malbec grapes come from 50 year old vineyards in Nancagua . Picked when sugar content was 23 Brix and PH reached 3.5. Grapes were transported in 15 Kgs. trays to our main cellar in Curico, where they were crushed and fermented. Fermentation took place at 30¼ C in order to extract colour, flavours and ripe tannins. A long maceration of 30 days was carried out during this period. The wine was racked out of the skins. Aurelio Montes, the winemaker, decided not to do any additional treatment, except for cold-stabilisation. It was bottled in August. Aged in American oak. (12 x 75 cl)

Cortegiara RIPASSO Valpolicella Fumane Veneto
Description: The Valpolicella Ripasso is made with 60% Corvina Veronese, 35% Rondinella, and 5% Molinara in the traditional Ripasso technique. The young Valpolicella, made in October, undergoes a second fermentation in November together with grapes that have been lightly dried for two months. This process adds colour, alcohol and depth of flavour to the finished wine. The 2006 has fresh, ripe plums and red cherries fruit with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg on the palate, and is lingering and intense on the finish. It boasts the vibrancy of fresh young Valpolicella fruit but with the intensity and concentration of Amarone. (12 x 75 cl)
