Description: This wine comes from Plots of vines planted exclusively on the land of the Hautes Garrigues and is a blend of Grenache Vieilles Vignes 80%, Mourvèdre 15%, Syrah 3% and Cinsault 2%. The fruit is selected late in the season and harvesting is done by hand with a strict selection process. Description: Hand picked on a cool autumn morning and gently whole cluster pressed, only free run juice was used for this wine. Fermentation was conducted in stainless steel tanks at low temperature with a specialist strain of Riesling yeast designed to retain aromatics. The wine has an alluring perfume of root-ginger, lantana and limes while the palate is light, taut and crisp. A great wine to drink as an aperitif or with rich creamy foods, it provides an interesting counterpoint in texture with poultry, grilled fish or spicy Asian inspired cuisine. Sealed with a Stelvin® screw cap seal we are confident this wine will reach you in perfect condition. Drinking well while young this dry white wine will develop complexity and character as it matures in bottle over the next 5-8 years. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Montrose 2eme Cru Classe Saint Estephe
Description: Monsieur Dumoulin created the wine estate in 1815 and it quickly created a good name for its high quality wines with extraordinary ageing potential. The result, Chateau Montrose was classified a second growth in 1855 and is undoubtedly one of the most famous wines of Bordeaux. Chateau Montrose is situated in the Medoc. The vines of this 94-hectare estate form a single block around the little village of the Chateau, winery buildings and winegrowers' houses. The vineyard is planted on a gravelly rise with a layer of large pebbles four to six metres deep. The clay marl subsoil retains water, releasing it to the vine roots during drought years. A classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc it has red fruit and oak aromas. Soft but powerful the palate is clean and complex with good balancing acidity through to the long finish. (12 x 75 cl)

The nose has a toasty, roasted coffee character with hints of cedar spice rather than overt fruit as is the style of Pauillac and whilst the palate is quite structured, this is drinking now but will develop and is a classic, affordable Cru Classe.
