A delicious wine with an expansive nose of roasted currants, warm meat and fresh coffee beans with a good slew of spice and mineral. Robert Plageoles Domaine Les Tres Cantous NATURE Sparkling Mauzac Gaillac
Description: Robert Plageoles believes in rediscovering what has been lost. Not for him the slavish adherence to global varietals; he has grubbed up his plantings of Sauvignon and concentrated instead on the native Mauzac, in which he has found the potential for a whole range of styles. Mauzac, when dry can produce a fascinating soft style redolent of pears, white cherries and angelica; it is also responsible for sparkling wines and an array of sweeties ranging from the off dry to the unique piercingly dry sherry-like Vin de Voile. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine La Barroche PURE Chateauneuf-du-Pape

The fruit come from 100 year old vines and embodies delicacy as subtle flavours of strawberry, cherry and liquorice and a hint of spice mark out this well made wine. The vivid and fleshy mouth is built around well coated tannins that are both powerful and generous through to the lengthy finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Weingut Kofererhof Kerner Valle Isarco Alto-Adige
Description: Acquired and managed by the Kerschbaumer family since 1940, the Kofererhof estate has existed in southern Tyrol, a region that is as Austrian in spirit as it is Italian, for over 850 years. In 1995, the winery started to bottle its own wines after having sold its fruit to local wineries for years. Kofererhof's tiny 5 hectares of vines are located at the base of the Dolomite mountains between 700 and 800 metres above sea level. At this high altitude, the variation in temperatures from day to night is ideal, and the carefully tended, high-density vineyards yield intensely fragrant, concentrated and well-balanced wines. All grapes are harvested by hand, and attention to detail is paramount in this limited production winery. The quality of these wines raises the bar for all whites from Alto-Adige. The Kerner smells of tangerine and lychee and tastes of peach, apricots and honey with plenty of complex nuances, has a medium to full-bodied texture and refreshing acidity in the finish. It's a rare white wine that manages to achieve plenty of flavour, good texture and complexity without the aid of oak. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Filhot 2eme Cru Sauternes
Description: Chateau Filhot has 60 hectares of vineyards, planted with 60 per cent Semillon, 36 per cent Sauvignon Blanc, and 4 per cent Muscadelle. Bordering on the forests of the Landes, and with the small Ciron river flowing through the property, Chateau Filhot has an ideal microclimate for developing 'botrytis cinerea' on the grapes. Only the best grapes are selected and yields are very low as a result, somewhere between 10 and 20 hectolitres per hectare depending on the vintage. This high proportion of Sauvignon and the refusal to use any new oak gives Filhot a fruitier, more aromatic quality than some of the bigger-boned Sauternes. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)

Domaine Laporte ROCHE BLANCHE Pouilly-Fume
Description: Founded in 1850 in the heart of the prestigious Sancerre appellation, Domaine Laporte is renowned for its quality. Located in the Loire Valley 200 km south of Paris, the Domaine Laporte Sancerre vineyards cover approximately 2,300 ha . Domaine Laporte sits on the edge of a valley known as La Cassure de Sancerre. This unique geological formation is divided into two distinct soil types: limestone hills on one side of the valley, flint hills on the opposite side. Grapes grown on each of these different soils are vinified according to the kind of soil. This careful respect for soil typicity gives each wine an individual expression and personality. This Loire white has aromas of citrus and flintstone while on the palate there is a clean attack followed by a well balanced roundness. (6 x 75 cl)

Pierre Cros Domaine Cros Vieilles Vignes Rouge Minervois
Description: Situated in Badens, a few kilometres from Carcassonne, the vineyards of Domaine Cros sit on the poorest of poor shallow stony argilo-calcaire soils so stark and inhospitable in certain places that only the vine and the olive tree can scratch an existence. The love of this arid terroir, where the drought seems more extreme than elsewhere, has induced owner Pierre Cros to preserve ancient parcels of Aramon , Piquepoul Noir , Alicante and Carignan alongside the more classic 'noble' varieties of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. Minervois vieilles vignes is from vines nearly one hundred years old showing this wine is displaying great charater. (6 x 75 cl)
