Delicate floral aromas over a background of very ripe fruit including blackberry and strawberry give way to hints of oak and truffles. The tannins have a fruity, meaty structure that evolves into velvety touches of smoke and spices acquired during ageing. The traditional Tempranillo variety is the basis of Coronas although it is ennobled with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. (12 x 75 cl)

Dalwhinnie Pinot Noir Victoria Australia
Description: Lovely deep dark cherry-red Pinot Noir with an intensely perfumed bouquet that is fresh and fragrant with lifted cherry and beetroot aromas intermingled with dry herbs and spice. The palate shows true varietal fruit characters of plum and dark cherry, while there is also wonderful texture from the inclusion of 15% whole bunch influence. This is all supported by good acidity and excellent Burgundian oak. Dalwhinnie is located near the tiny village of Moonambel in the heart of the Pyrenees region of Western Victoria, Australia and is a super premium producer of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. After 25 years of growing grapes, the 18 hectare vineyard is now fully mature, producing true varietal fruit characters with great concentration of flavours. At 595 metres above sea-level Dalwhinnie is the highest and most remote of the Pyrenees district vineyards. Surrounded and sheltered by the highest range, this unique bowl of vines is a world unto itself, located in a naturally undulating trough which falls away from the hills, forming an amphitheatre nestled into the ranges.
