Domaine Lucien Crochet LA CROIX du ROY Sancerre
Description: A Pinot Noir from limestone, chalk and kimmeridgean clay soils it is aged in 55% barriques and 45% cuve. Delightful cherry blossom nose, sleek, svelte ripe Pinot fruit of cherries and summer berries, with a good lively, juicy finish. Bon Viveur Gilles Crochet, son of Lucien, looks after winemaking duties at this Estate. The winery is ultra modern, fitted out with the very latest temperature controlled fermentation vessels. The emphasis is on creating wines of finesse and complexity that are faithful to terroir and vintage. The vineyards are located around the towns of Bue, Sancerre and Crezancy, the finest of which is the south-facing limestone-based Chene Marchand vineyard. Gilles makes his wines as naturally as possible using indigenous yeasts and through hand picking, careful selection of the grapes and long, slow ageing sur lie produces taut, sophisticated and age-worthy Sancerre. Elisabetta Geppetti FATTORIA LE PUPILLE Morellino de Scansano
Description: The Morellino di Scansano is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Alicante and Malvasia Nera. It has delicious ripe fruit on the nose, with the cherry-strawberry hints characteristic of ripe Sangiovese. The Alicante adds greater depth of colour to the blend whereas the Malvasia Nera emphasises the perfume of this ripe, approachable wine. Elisabetta Geppetti has injected a great deal of dynamism into Le Pupille’s wines in the past few vintages, yet has been careful to look after the detail as well. This is illustrated by the quality and consistency of this Morellino. This estate, long one of our favourite producers in Scansano, has now joined the ranks of the Tuscan superstars. With the release of each vintage, the sense of excitement surrounding the wines is almost as tangible as the opulent fruit that characterises each of Le Pupille’s impressive reds. (12 x 37.5 cl)

Massolino Barolo PARAFADA Serralunda Piemonte
Description: Barolo Parafada is Franco Massoliono's foray into modernisation. The chalk soil in this south facing vineyard produces marvellous grapes that Franco macerates for 3 days only at high temperatures before racking the wine off into barrique, 50% of which is new, where it is aged for 2 years prior to bottling. The intensity of the fruit ensures the oak is well balanced and the fruit fresh and clean. The structure of Serralunga still shines through in the wine despite Franco's modernistic approach in the cellar. (12 x 75 cl)

Pieropan Soave Classico Veneto
Description: This Soave Classico is vibrant straw yellow in colour, with delicate perfumes reminiscent of almond blossom and marzipan. On the palate, it is soft textured with good depth of fruit balanced by a zingy acidity that lingers on the finish. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wine, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. It has a richness that is unusual in this wine at such an early stage, and yet the acidity and aroma that will enable the wine to age beautifully.. Nobody else has spent the past 35 years getting to know Garganega and the vineyards of Soave Classico in the same intimate detail as Nino Pieropan. He then ensures that his work in the cellar retains and amplifies the quality and style provided by the vineyard. The vineyards are planted primarily with Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave . (12 x 75 cl)
