Description: Located in Erbusco, in the province of Lombardy, Ca'del Bosco is widely recognized as one of Italy's greatest wine estates. In 1968, Ca'del Bosco was founded on two hundred and thirty acres, and planted with chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot noir, the traditional varietals of Franciacorta. After years of significant investment, technological improvements and the usual experience brought about by trial and error, Ca'del Bosco has won a reputation as one of the world's most prominent producers of not only fine sparkling wines, but also still wines. In 1998, Gambero Rosso, the leading authority on Italian wines, began referring to the estate as one of the few Stars in Italy, having won so many coveted Three Glasses awards. In 2002, the winery was named Winery of the Year byt the same publication. A blend of 75% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Bianco , 10% Pinot Nero , with a straw with greenish reflection appearance. This sparkling wine has an intense, very refined flower of a lime tree aroma, underlined by the smell of apple and peach. Description: Trentham Estate own the Willandra label which is named after the Willandra Lakes, including the famous Lake Mungo, which are north of the Trentham Estate Vineyards. Willandra wines are carefully crafted to reflect the balance in the fragile local environment. The styles show clean, clear fruit characters with emphasis on freshness and vitality. The result is a Chardonnay showing a soft, fresh character with lifted fruit flavours of mango and melon and a balanced zesty light palate. This wine was produced with great care, harvested in the cool early morning, the grapes were gently crushed, chilled and very lightly pressed to produce a soft supple style. J Lohr LOS OSOS Merlot Paso Robles California
Description: The Merlot was grown on Nacimiento-Los Osos Complex, Arbuckle-San Ysidro and Arbuckle-Positas, and the 2001 vintage produced some outstanding red wines, although very similar to the vintage of 2000. However, it required longer grape hang time to achieve optimum development of colour, flavour and fragrance. This wine is predominently Merlot with a little Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah to add spice to the wine. Merlot is the earliest of the Bordeaux varieties to ripen and as such was the guinea pig for determining phenolic and flavor maturation by tasting. In 2001 that flavour break occurred almost one degree Brix higher than in 2000 at just over 26 degrees Brix. The 2001 release of Los Osos Merlot marks the fifth vintage at the vineyard from plantings of primarily French Merlot clones #181 and #314. Unlike the softer, less tannic Cabernet Sauvignon, where fermentation beyond dryness can be desirable, from the mid-point of fermentation to near dryness is critical to ensure that the grapes are pressed just prior to the buildup of gripping tannins, producing concentrated, yet supple Merlot. The 2001 vintage of Los Osos Merlot is dark, purple-red in color with complex red and black fruit aromas of black currants, black cherry, blueberry, plum and violet with a bouquet of vanilla, mocha, roasted nuts and toast. A soft, yet generous wine with a sweet texture full of blackberries, mulberries and black currants with brown spices from the barrel aging, (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut CLOS DE LA ROCHE Grand Cru
Description: In the early 1960's, this 22 acre estate was created by Fernand Lecheneaut while he worked for a négociant in Beaune. He took advantage of opportunities to buy parcels of various vineyards, and finally quit the shipper trade when he had acquired enough. Based mainly in the Côte de Nuits, spread through the appellations of Nuit-St-Georges, Morey-St-Denis, Vosne Romanée and Chambolle Musigny, where it is planted with 90% Pinot Noir. In addition the Domaine have a small vineyard in the grand cru Clos de la Roche in Morey-St-Denis. The remaining 10% of grapes produced are evenly divided between Chardonnay and Aligote. Their annual production of 2,500 cases comes in 13 different bottlings and availability is strictly limited. Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut has been run since 1985 by brothers Vincent and Philippe Lecheneaut. The Estate in Nuits St Georges is considered one of the finest in Burgundy and tradition is the by-word for the wines made here. Once harvested the wine spends 18 months in barrique without any fining or filtration. The wines produced are superbly crafted, concentrated yet forward and elegant with well integrated oak. A Grand Cru Pinot Noir densely packed with super-ripe black fruits, depth, balance, concentration, and immense length.
