Domaine Cordier Pouilly-Fuisse
Description: This estate was founded in 1945 by Gustave Cordier, later run by Roger Cordier and now by his son, Christophe. It is Christophe's talent and passion that have given the estate its reputation as one of the finest domaines of the Maconnais. Cordier is traditionally the last to harvest in Fuisse, additionally, he trains his vines for minimal production, and therefore maximum concentration (10 to 15 hectolitres per hectare is quite common. Once in the winery, fermentation is followed by over a year in Seguin-Moreau barrels and regular batonnage. Looking around the cave one can't fail to notice the impressive, large new oak barrels in which Christophe cultivates his extraordinary wines. The result, somehow, is that the wines always have the intensity and concentration to balance this oak treatment. Christophe's desire to produce so many different versions of the same appellations reflects his belief in terroir and his desire to express it. (12 x 75 cl)

Eikehof Estate Chardonnay Franschoek RSA
Description: Encouraged by the Dutch East India Company to develop smaller settlements in the Cape, Gideon Malherbe, a French Huguenot arrived on the 13th April 1688. He immediately set out for the Berg River Valley, later to be known as the 'French Corner' or 'Franschhoek' to establish a suitable site for wine production. Francois Malherbe, the fourth generation family vigneron, has been in control of the estate since 1992, producing the traditional varieties planted by his forefathers. With the use of approximately 20% new oak, this is a nicely balanced Chardonnay with a full, creamy, zesty citrus and melon fruit style, ideal for consumption within its first couple of years. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Tollot-Beaut 1er Cru LAVIERES Savigny-les-Beaune
Description: Tollot-Beaut were among the group of pioneering Burgundians who started producing and bottling their own wines in the early part of the 20th Century. As rich in tradition as this Domaine is, under Nathalie Tollot, no-one rests on their laurels and a premium is placed on quality. Money is spent on new oak every year to ensure a good stock of healthy barrels which provide the perfect resting place for their magnificent wines. However, it is the vineyard where most of the investment goes on. They employ twice as many people per hectare than any of their neighbours to restrict the vigour of the vines and therefore increase the chances of ripe concentrated grapes being produced every year. The wines remain respectful to their origins while sharing characteristic spicy, toasty and cherry fruit flavours. (6 x 75 cl)

Vincent Dureuil-Janthial 1er Cru MEIX CADOT Vieilles Vignes Rully
Description: This Chardonnay comes from 80 year old vines and is a deep yellow coloured wine showing a citrus nose. Butter and creamy palate is displaying great minerality through to the complex and long finish. Now in his early thirties, Vincent Dureuil has firmly established himself as one of the top three growers in Rully, where he is based. He is that rare thing, a winemaker equally at home with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. His whites are mineral and expressive without being lean, whilst his reds are juicy. Following his father's retirement at the end of 2002 Vincent has been able to double the size of his holdings to around 13 hectares. The result is whites whilst crisp and mineral, show a seductive amount of flesh, whilst his Pinots have a ripe, chewy quality, with mouth-watering acid balance, which promises exciting development with age. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Patrick Javillier LES MONTCHENEVOY Savigny-les-Beaune
Description: Based in Meursault Patrick Javillier is one of the top three wine makers in the village. He owns a little Corton-Charlemagne and a minuscule plot of Meursault Charmes, but otherwise the estate consists entirely of 'village' vineyards. However, a village wine from Javillier usually outshines a Premier Cru from most of his neighbours. These are classic Meursaults, and his Bourgogne blancs are very serious, mineral-driven wines. Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley Pommard
Description: This deep red Pinot Noir is a rich, spicy, medium bodied wine that has tones of strawberry, chocolate and terroir. Jean-Marc Bouley's domaine, which has been in his family for three generations, now consists of 12 hectares in Volnay, Pommard and Beaune. The winery is located underneath his house on a steep narrow street in the village of Volnay. The house was originally built by a retired railroad engineer, and the cellars resemble train tunnels. Jean-Marc took over the domaine in 1985 and significantly expanded the holdings, buying choice parcels in Volnay and Pommard. He immediately attained international acclaim for his exciting, dramatic Pinot Noirs. Today, he makes wines from 11 different appellations. Bouley aims for maximum extraction of colour, flavour and aromas to yield wines that are lushly fruity, yet balanced and complex. (12 x 75 cl)
