Chateau Dauzac 5eme Cru Classe Margaux
Description: Chateau Dauzac was classified a great growth in 1855, however, wine growing would appear to go back to the thirteenth century. However, it was necessary to wait until the arrival of Thomas Michel Lynch in 1740 for the vines to be consolidated into the beautiful vineyard that we know today. In more recent time the chateau was bought by the MAIF insurance company in 1988, and in 1992 they handed over the running of the estate and the Presidency of the Board of Directors to Andre Lurton. Now in charge, it is Andre Lurton's reponsibiltiy to produce the wine from the 45 hectares of 15-20 year old vines. From the vineyard to the winery great care is taken in producing this wine from the manual harvest to table sorting both before and after destemming quality is always the driving force. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 58%, Merlot 37% and a little Cabernet Franc 5% this wine will splend 12 months in oak barrels with racking each trimester and fined using eggwhites. The Hachet Guide Considered: Intense purple colour, traditionnally Dauzac, succulent, jammy with a strawberry and cherry nose it is tightly knit, ample and well supported by the oak. It is interesting to note that Ernest Davis, who was the manager of both Dauzac and Ducru Beaucaillou, perfected the famous bouillie bordelaise here in 1885 with the help if Professor Alexis Millardet. Available in Original Wooden Case.

Grosset Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Clare Valley South Australia
Description: Grosset Wines is an independently owned winery set in the Clare Valley producing just six highly regarded premium wines each vintage. Jeff Grosset is one of the luminaries of the Australian wine industry, his fame the result not of puffery but of consistent and stellar quality over the past 25 years. Established in 1981 by Jeffrey Grosset in the historic township of Auburn in the southern tip of the Clare Valley 100 kilometres north of Adelaide. The winery is stylish but functional and reflects the attention to detail that extends to Jeffrey Grosset's estate-owned Clare Valley vineyards and to the winemaking. Adelaide Hills sauvignon blanc and Clare Valley semillon vineyards are used in this 50:50 blend. This is a yellow coloured wine showing a nose of gooseberries and lychees. The palate is fresh, vibrant, pristine and intense with concentrated ripe lychees, tangy gooseberries, some grassiness and spicy, minerally flavours. Domaine Cuilleron AMARYBELLE Vielle Vignes St-Joseph
Description: It has taken Yves Cuilleron 10 years to establish himself as one of the most dynamic young winegrowers in the Northern Rhone. His bold wines move and impress aficionados by their deep combination of terroir and style, a style which combines concentration and elegance, the two words which best define a great wine. This wine is made with Syrah grapes and the old vines used are between 20 and 40 years old. The grapes come from a selection of the best vines on terraces and hillsides where the soils are sandy granite and not very deep, while neither insecticides nor acaricides are used. After the manual harvest the grapes are picked out, crushed and partially picked off from the bunch. Next, the wine is put into oak barrels and malolactic fermantation occurs and finally the wine is aged in oak for 18 months. Dark ruby coloured wine with an intensely perfumed nose of redcurrant, licorice, and fresh violet. Serious, concentrated and deep, with strong, inky berry and cherry flavours that build and expand on the palate combine well with powerful tannins and strong finish.
