Seghesio Arneis Sonoma Coast California
Description: Arneis originates from the Piedmont region of Italy. Our grandfather, Edoardo Seghesio, emigrated from that same region in 1886. This rare grape's literal translation is "little rascal" due to its erratic ripening tendencies and temperamental nature during fermentation. (12 x 75 cl)

Torre Fornello DONNA LUIGIA Malvasia Colli Piacentini DOC
Description: Donna Luigia Scotti Douglas, descendant of a noble Scottish family and widow of Count Zanardi Landi, grand duke of Tuscany, bequeaths the whole estate to her daughter in 1862. The will lists the whole of the Estate with great accuracy. In her will, Donna Luigia demands that the estate should never be split up, and that is why it came down complete to the present owner, including the vineyards, while it is fascinating to notice how each parcel of land had kept its own name. In 1972 the whole of the estate was sold to the Sgorbati family, winemakers of tradition from the surrounding area. Since 1991 Enrico Sgorbati, son of Giuseppe and Fernanda, has overseen winegrowing and in 1998 he started making high-quality wines in the old manor-house, now entirely restored. The vineyards of the Torre Fornello estate cover an area of 55 hectares on the hills around Piacenza, in the commune of Ziano. Here soil and climate are particularly suitable to winegrowing, an activity that has been going on since Roman times. The vineyards are under controlled cover crop, which forces the vines to a natural competition, resulting in lower yields per hectare, but of higher quality and more resistant to moulds. While every single winemaking and stocking stage follows the guidelines regulating organic products and the result is eco-friendly, high-quality wines. Clear yellow straw coloured wine with decisive golden reflections, intense perfume and immediate hints of fuit, at first evasively and then decisively. The intense and fruty flavour are both harmonious and pleasing. (12 x 75 cl)

Barone Ricasoli VIN SANTO Chianti Classico
Description: Castello di Brolio is one of the oldest wine producers in the world and is situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico region of Italy. Located in Gaiole in Chianti, it has one of the longest histories of any wine estate in the world, having produced wine since 1141. In 1993, Barone Francesco Ricasoli took back control of the estate, spending millions of dollars replanting vineyards and upgrading the cellars. Today, Brolio is again one of Tuscany's leading wine estates. Using the traditional method of vinification the Malvasia , Canaiolo and Sangiovese grapes selected are hung clusters and left to wither for approximately four months in a ventilated atmosphere. The must obtained is fermented slowly for approximately 2 years, and then aged a further 3 years in the barrel. This traditional method of making Vin Santo has produced a dessert wine with a beautiful deep golden colour with amber hues. The intense and fragrant bouquet leads to a full and lingering taste of almonds and raisins with a great finish. Available in half bottles. (6 x 37.5 cl)
