Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron LES BOUDOTS Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru
Description: Alain Meunier and his wife, Sophie own this 7 hectare vineyard estate based at Premaux-Prissey, south of Nuits, additionally they have vineyard holdings in many parts of the Cotes de Nuits. Attention to detail and a passion for their work has produced wines with an exciting and enviable reputation. The grapes are grown organically and, to maximise the fruit, all the grapes are de-stemmed before vinification. These are powerful, rich wines that are bottled early to protect their intense, concentrated fruit. The wines are only racked before bottling, so there is 15-18 months of extended lees contact. The grand crus are aged in 100% new French oak, and the premier crus in 80%. A deep dark red coloured Pinot Noir with a nose of coffee and chocolate. Great depth of forest fruit flavours, well balanced with great tannic structure and length.

Domaine de l'Espigouette Cotes du Rhone
Description: Bernard Latour is a highly qualified grower in his mid forties, so much so that he teaches viticulture at the local wine school. His vineyard, much of which is situated on the famous ÔPlan de DieuÕ outside Violes, is planted mainly with 40 year old Grenache with some Syrah and Mourvedre. His yield is 46 hl/ha for the Cotes du Rhone, but 37 hl/ha for his Villages. The vinification is traditional, some in stainless steel tanks and the remainder in cement vats, and lasts for about 12 days at a temperature between 30á and 34á. M. Latour pumps over the must one third of the total volume at a time in a daily cycle during fermentation. Part of the wine spends 6 to 9 months in foudres before bottling. The wine has no fining and just a very light filtration. These are old fashioned, rich, spicy wines (24 x 37.5 cl)

Description: The varietal is characterized by buttery, smoky aromas and powerfully intense flavors. The Pinot Gris Princes Abbés is a lush and concentrated wine with a good natural acidity. Packed with apple and tropical fruit aromas, the wine has vanilla and butter flavors with a creamy texture and a lingering spicy oak finish. The Pinot Gris, previously called Tokay d'Alsace, then Tokay Pinot Gris, is not related to the Hungarian Tokaji, which comes from the Furmint vine. It is actually a pinot of Burgundian origin known in Alsace since the 17th century. The general name Pinot Gris is the designated term from now until 2007.The Pinot Gris is an aromatic wine, sometimes velvety and vigorous, both fresh and rich, it is has good acidity and ages admirably. In the mouth, it is round and persistent. On the nose, its aromas are greatly complex, fruity and sometimes slightly smoked (12 x 75 cl)

Valentino’s pioneering spirit lead to his most famous creation: Bricco Manzoni, the barrique-aged blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera that have inspired many imitations.
