Over 25 years ago Matanzas Creek Winery established a lasting tradition – a commitment to crafting exceptional wines sourced from the finest Sonoma County vineyards. This commitment, coupled with the beauty of the Estate's home in Sonoma County's Bennett Valley, has produced a Northern California treasure. Founded in 1977, Matanzas Creek Winery is located on the site of a retired dairy farm in Sonoma County's newest American Viticultural Appellation , Bennett Valley. The Estate takes its moniker from the natural creek running through the area, which was named by Spanish settlers for the Pomo Indian deer hunts once common in the area. This wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc with a hint of both Semillon and Sauvignon Musque, it is bright in both colour and flavour, yet remarkably complex for a Sauvignon Blanc. This unique complexity is the result of precise selection and blending of fruit from five prestigious wine growing regions (12 x 75 cl)

Guerrieri Rizzardi Pinot Grigio del Veneto IGT
Description: The Guerrieri-Rizzardi estate, situated on the slopes east of Lake Garda, has been producing wine for over three centuries. It is the only estate in the Veneto to produce the three top D.O.C. wines from its own vineyards in Valpolicella, Bardolino and Soave. By avoiding the use of chemical fertilisers and concentrating on natural viticultural methods, low yields and rigorous clonal selection, wines of the highest quality are produced from the best sites. The estate originates from the merging of two families, Guerrieri and Rizzardi , and is now owned by the Contessa Cristina Guerrieri-Rizzardi, who enthusiastically ensures that the full range of wines (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Bouscasse Madiran
Description: The history of winemaking in Madiran goes back to Gallo-Roman times. They have had the same soil for a period of 40,000 years! Alain Brumont started winemaking over twenty years ago with his father. Today he owns 10% of the total vineyards in Madiran. Alain Brumont took up the challenge of placing Madiran on the map of renowned wines. His defence of the Tannat grape is passionate while the rest of the world seems content with just a few well-known grape varieties. With tenacity, he took the best terroir of the region for the Tannat grape, which makes up the majority if not 100% of his blends. The excellence that Alain Brumont has achieved with his wines has been the result of observation, reflection and, ultimately for all great wines, a sacrifice of high yields. His yield is limited to between 30 and 40 hectolitres per hectare (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau de Fuisse St-Veran
Description: Rich, full and concentrated with super balance, minerality and freshness, showing the amazing quality that Jean Jaques Vincnet now attains at Chateau de Fuisse. The Chateau de Fuisse is located in the heart of the Maconnais vineyards in southern Burgundy. In this famous region, the Vincent family , produce wines of an exceptional quality thanks to the estate's outstanding location. Jean-Jacques Vincent, the current owner since 1966, is the worthy heir to this proud family heritage, as an agricultural engineer and oenologist, he has dedicated his life to the running of the family estate. He ensures that the authenticity of the product is constantly respected through a judicious combination of new technology and traditional methods. The majority of the estate's 30 hectares of vineyards are located in the districts of Fuisse and Pouilly , halfway up the hillsides with a south-south-easterly aspect. The argilo-calcareous soil with its variable proportions of clay and chalk give the wines both structure and elegance. Of varying ages, the vines are harvested separately and manually according to the 'climats' concerned. The Chardonnay grapes are transferred whole to the estate where they undergo slow pneumatic pressing to gently extract all the goodness of the juice. The vines are cared for using traditional methods, applying sustainable viticulture and totally organic fertilizer, thereby safeguarding the future of the plots farmed, while at the same time respecting their individual characters. The soil is always farmed in parcels in order to limit erosion and guarantee authenticity. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Potensac Cru Bourgeois Medoc
Description: Chateau Potensac is owned by the Delon family, owner of the illustrious estates Leoville-Las Cases, in St Julien, and Nenin, in Pomerol. Like Sociando-Mallet, Potensac is yet another chateau which illustrates the defunct nature of the 1855 classification of Bordeaux. Potensac regularly turns out wines of classed growth quality, but has only a Cru Bourgeois designation, although in the most recent Cru Bourgeois classification, in 2003, it was accorded Cru Bourgeois Exceptionel status. The vineyards of Potensac are located in Ordonnac in Médoc. The blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with approximately 40% Merlot and Cabernet Franc combined. Production from just over 120 acres of vineyard amounts to 25000 cases per year. There are many reasons why Potensac is so successful, but like all great wines the success has its roots in the vineyard. Restricted yields of approximately 35 hl/ha, however, is just the start of it. Temperature controlled fermentation and rigorous selection for the 'grand vin' are other important factors. Michel and Jean-Hubert Delon eschew filtration, although they do fine the wines using egg whites, an acceptable and widely used practice. (12 x 75 cl)

Cline Cellars RED TRUCK California
Description: At the turn of the 20th century, Oakley was home to a number of Portuguese and Italian immigrants who found many similarities to the Mediterranean climate they had left behind. They planted thousands of acres of orchards and vineyards. Today, a century later, due to the devastation of phylloxera and the encroachment of commercial and residential development, only 600 acres of vineyards remain in this evolving community. Cline Cellars owns and controls 300 of those acres including some of the oldest surviving vines in California. Cline Cellars began when Fred Cline's maternal grandfather, Valeriano Jacuzzi lived in Oakley and inspired him to go on to to U.C. Davis to study agriculture management. After attaining his degree in 1982, Fred returned to Oakley and founded Cline Cellars. There he started producing wines and restoring his grandfather’s ancient vines: today the Zinfandel, Carignane and Mourvedre produced from these vines are some of the most unique and historic wines made in California. In 1991, the winery relocated from Oakley to the Carneros region of Sonoma County. Here Fred pioneered the planting of Rhone varietals including Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne. This red is a blend of 37% Syrah, 27% Petite Sirah, 23% Cabernet Franc and the balance is Grenache and Mourvedre. The grapes were picked and then gently crushed and pumped to the stainless fermentation tank. The wines received pump-overs thrice daily to aid flavor extraction. The free run juice was then drained from the tank to another settling tank and the grapes were pressed and re-combined. The wine settled for about two weeks and then racked to a combination of neutral oak barrels and temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The Syrah saw a mix of both French and American oak. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a deep red coloured wine that is showing medium-bodied and delicious flavours of dark berries, licorice and chocolate with smooth tannins and enjoyable finish.
