Description: Chateau de Campuget, which belongs to the Dalle family since 1941, is producing great A.O.C. Costieres de Nimes wines. The vineyard of 160 hectares is situated in the heart of the A.O.C. area, between Nimes and Arles, a few kilometres from the right side of the Rhone river. The main characteristic of the 'terroir' is its soil , formed by an accumulation of round stones that had been rolled by many overflows of the Rhone river during the quaternary era. It allows the grapevines to establish their roots deep enough to find the water they need for growing. At the same time they profit of the sunny Mediterranean climate, essential for the good maturation of the grapes. Although equipped with stainless-steel tanks and modern tools, Chateau Campuget wines are made and matured in a traditional way. From its own bottling-line to the air-conditioned warehouse, it can control the quality of the wines from the vineyard to the bottle. This wine is a blend of Syrah , Grenache noir and Mourvedre , it is a garnet-red coloured wine with a blue hue. Its scent of ripe fruit is dominated by blackcurrents underlined with hints of spices and pepper. In the mouth it is round, harmonious, full-bodied and fruity with a spicy finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Escarpment Pinot Noir Martinborough New Zealand
Description: The wine is a true reflection of both Martinborough's unique terroir and the skills and experience of winemaker Larry McKenna with perfume, elegant fruit flavours and soft ripe tannins these are the hallmarks of this exceptional Pinot Noir. Situated just 5 kilometres east of Martinborough village, Escarpment's 24 hectares of distinctive alluvial gravel, terraced land stretches out along the banks of the Huangarua River. Here the Fruit was harvested at the Te Muna Road property, Cleland and Bunny vineyards. An abundant harvest has created a typical Escarpment style wine with ripe fruit and attractive texture, due to an extended ripening season. Traditional open topped fermentation combined with intensive hand plunging and gentle pressing has all combined to ensure a most arresting wine. Next it was elevated in 100% French oak of which 30% was new for 12 months. After blending and light egg white fining this red was bottled without filtration. Overlooking the vineyard are the Aorangi Ranges, the very hills made famous by Kupe the great Polynesian voyager who discovered New Zealand, according to Maori legend. Kupe left his three canoes, Nga Waka, on top of the range, giving rise to the now familiar landmark of the district, the three flat-topped hills on top of the range, which resemble unturned canoes. This warrior and his story provide the inspiration for the vineyard's distinctive brand and logo. (6 x 75 cl)

Louis Latour Beaune Rouge AC
Description: The red wines that come from the vineyards surrounding the picturesque town of Beaune remain relatively undiscovered compared to its smaller, more famous neighbours. For this reason Beaune Rouge AC still represents extremely good value whilst providing an appealing introduction to the red wines of the Cote de Beaune. The wines from this section of the Appellation are full and rich with an impressive range of berry-fruit flavours and ripe tannins. Their colour is deep and concentrated with a finish that is to be savoured. Open-vat fermentation followed by 18 months in oak barrels has produced a wine with a garnet-red appearance, clean nose and expressed hints of red currants. This was reflected on the palate along with a high concentration of tannins and a brambly finish.

Estancia Chardonnay Monterey California
Description: Roughly translated from the Spanish word for 'estate' Estancia's name emphasizes the founder's conviction that the world's best wines capture the essence of their place of origin. In 1986, Estancia purchased the former Paul Mason vineyard ranches in the Monterey town of Soledad to established it as the home of Estancia Winery and of cool climate varietals. The 1,200-acre Vineyard is situated on a frost-free benchland above Salinas Valley on California's Central Coast, in the Monterey town of Soledad. Cooled by morning and evening fog but far enough away from Monterey Bay to get a good daily dose of sun. The site is ideal for producing cooler climate varietals like Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, due to the Sandy, naturally parched soil that produces bright and concentrated flavours that are reflected so well in this wine. Today, Estancia's winemakers strive to combine the best of both worlds- a state of the art winemaking facility, and a traditional, hands-on approach to each grape they produce. In the end, this combination of technology and tradition allows Estancia to deliver the hand-crafted quality for which these wines are known. While the cutting-edge facilities enable Estancia to take advantage of the beneficial advances in winemaking technology. Finally, Estancia's commitment to old world processes results in the complexity and elegance found in artisanal and boutique wines. 100% Chardonnay this wine spends 8 months sur lie and 8 months in French and American oak, of which 20% is new each year. It is a medium gold coloured wine with aromas of Pear, passion fruit and fig with hints of hazelnut, fresh baked pie crust, lychee nut and vanillin. The ripe fruit aromas are evident on the palate as ripe pear, passionfruit, guava fig give way to the subtle nuances of oak, excellent concentration and lingering creamy mouthfeel culminating in a minral finish.
