Colonnara LYRICUS Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC
Description: Pale straw in colour with green tinges, this wine has a fine scent and taut dryness with a good fruit-acid balance, underlined with a hint of bitter almond. The Colonnara Cooperative in Cupramontana was established in 1959 and has now 183 small growers owning nearly 300 hectares. Apart from a high tech approach to vinification, production is characterised by an effectively “organic” approach to viticulture, using minimal treatments and only natural fertilisers. Verdicchio is unjustly unfashionable in the U.K. At its best, as in Cuprese – a selection from low yielding 20 year old vines – it can be a wine of real personality. The characteristic salty tang of the Verdicchio grape is supported by a positive, ripe, soft texture that develops well with bottle age (12 x 75 cl)

Collards Chenin Blanc Hawkes Bay NZ
Description: Collards Brothers is a family owned company dedicated to growing and producing premium wines. The original estate was founded in 1910 by an English horticulturalist, J.W. Collard. During the 1960’s further plantings of the best classical varieties then available were undertaken by Lionel Collard on the Henderson Estate. Today this vineyard grows Merlot, Malbec, Semillon and Riesling. In 1979 a second Collard vineyard was established by Bruce and Geoffrey Collard which today produces many of the top wines under the 'Rothesay' label. This site is favoured with unique conditions for viticulture with gentle slopes, high sunshine hours and warm summers moderated by Tasman sea breezes. Grown in the highly regarded district of Gimblett Road in Hawkes Bay, this vintage was produced from two pickings and fermented one third in the manner of a Chardonnay and two thirds as a crisp, vibrantly fruity style before these batches were blended together for maximum complexity. This is a pale yellow coloured Chenin Blanc showing a ripe, pineappley fruit character with background hints of honey and refreshing acidity. (12 x 75 cl)

Boutinot Wines FALSE BAY Sauvignon Blanc Coastal Region RSA
Description: A lively Sauvignon with crisp gooseberry characters, some minerality on the palate and a pure fruit finish. False Bay Producer Information & Tasting Notes Owned by Boutinot UK, False Bay Winery is a company that has grown out of 10 years involvement in South Africa, which began at a time when their wines and potential was just being recognised. With knowledge and respect within the South African wine industry, Paul Boutinot has been able to source top quality grapes for the re-launch of False Bay. We furthermore have the advantage of having a permanent team in South Africa headed by CEO Jean du Toit, who also oversees our winemaking operations. First discovered by sailors confusing it for Table Bay to the north, False Bay has long been a haven for those navigating the treacherous Cape of Good Hope. The cool coastal breeze which sweeps off the Indian Ocean temper the ripening process, extend the growing season and produce expressive wines with more precise varietal characters and purity. These lifted aromas make the wines accessible, perfectly balanced and full flavoured (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Andre Perret Saint Joseph Rouge
Description: Andre Perret's winery is located in Verlieu-Chavanay, a small village just south of Vienne. He succeeded his father in 1982 with an estate of just half a hectare and today has 8 hectares spread through the Condrieu and St Joseph appellations. Recognised as one of the top producers in the area, Andre Perret's wines have that bit of extra concentration. He also somehow manages to combine this concentration with a great deal of finesse as befits a man whose unassuming personality consistently earns the respect of his peers. This St Joseph has spent 12 months in the barrel to produce a deep garnet red coloured wine with ruby glints. Fruity flavours abound showing cherry and raspberry that blend to give an excellent taste, while the tannins are present but silky. (12 x 75 cl)
