Ca'del Bosco MAURIZIO ZANELLA Sebino Franciacorta Lombardy IGT
Description: Located in Erbusco, in the province of Lombardy, Ca'del Bosco is widely recognized as one of Italy's greatest wine estates. In 1968, Ca'del Bosco was founded on two hundred and thirty acres, and planted with chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot noir, the traditional varietals of Franciacorta. After years of significant investment, technological improvements and the usual experience brought about by trial and error, Ca'del Bosco has won a reputation as one of the world's most prominent producers of not only fine sparkling wines, but also still wines. In 1998, Gambero Rosso, the leading authority on Italian wines, began referring to the estate as one of the few Stars in Italy, having won so many coveted Three Glasses awards. In 2002, the winery was named Winery of the Year by the same publication. This wine has taken its name from its producer Maurizio Zanella, widely regarded as an innovator in the Italian wine industry and one of the few producers to introduce the Italian oenological renaissance. A classic Bourdeaux mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, which has been matured in small oak casks, 100% new, small oak barrels for 15 months followed by bottle ageing for 15 months. This wine is very elegant and refined with a deep, complex varietal fragrance with lingering aromatic persistence. The blend is both full and smooth in flavour and can age for a long time. It is the Ca' del Bosco wine which has received the most recognition both from the international professional press and famous restaurants. (6 x 75 cl)

Chapel Down FLINT DRY Tenterden Kent England
Description: New Wave Wines is a relatively new Company who make wine from grapes grown in England. They consider that being English they do not have a long history of wine-making or many familiar grape varieties. However, they see that as a strength and come without the baggage of snobbery, tradition and convention; while they produce fresh wines, fresh ideas with fresh energy. This wine is made from the Muller-Thurgau, or as it is known in Luxembourg the Rivaner, grape. It undergoes extended yeast contact after fermentation that adds body, flavour and complexity. This wine is lively and fragrant with a distinctive 'sur lie' aroma following through with an attractive clean crisp fruit palate and a refreshing finish. (12 x 75 cl)
