Giacomo Ascheri BRICCO SAN GIACOMO Nebbiolo D'Alba Piemonte
Description: The Giacomo Ascheri Cellars originated in La Morra: in that area, where a place called “Ascheri” still exists, in the early 19th century the first vines were planted and the first wines produced. In 1880 the winery was moved from La Morra to Bra, where it is still situated today. In a world where wines are generally produced with the same grapes, the same technology, the same wood for ageing and above all the same consultants, Ascheri's aim is to obtain a wine which is the expression of the vineyard it comes from, the grapes it was made of, and above all Giacomo Ascheri own ideas. In order to achieve this, Giacomo Ascheri have chosen a natural approach, with a moderate use of technology, without changing the nature of the wine with special procedures. They have attached new importance to old oak barrel ageing making choices entirely by ourselves. 100% Nebbiolo grape and harvested by hand in early October from the Bricco San Giacomo vineyard in Verduno. The wine is aged 14 months in stanless steel tanks, 4 months in Slavonian oak and a further 4 months in the bottle. This Nebbiolo is a ruby red colour with garnet red nuancesand an elegant bouquet, with velvety violet and pleasant spicy notes. A pleasantly harmonious wine, remarkably persistent, soft with a dry palate. Harmonious and charming with great balance and tipicity this wine is completed with a great finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Pelissero LONG NOW Langhe DOC
Description: Azienda Agricola Pelissero is a family-run vine-growing estate located in the district of Treiso, in the heart of Barbaresco. Many gradual changes have been performed by the successive generations of the Pelisseros, who transformed the grape-selling activity started by Giovanni Pelissero into winemaking of all the estate-grown grapes. Winemaking takes place in a cellar surrounded by vineyards situated in a zone called Augenta. The first bottles of wine dated back to 1960 and were produced by Luigi Pelissero, whose work was followed by his son, Oenologist Giorgio who, after finishing his studies, decided to work full time at the winery. The Pelissero family takes care of all the activities from pruning the vines to marketing the wine. The estate consists of twenty hectares of vineyards which yield a total of 80,000 to 100,000 bottles of wine. The colour of this wine is a violet-blueish red, almost black but with brilliant reflections. This concentration is also evident on the nose, with a marked varietal scent and aroma of ripe fruit including blackberry, raspberry and red cherry with an underlying fragrance of vanilla. The flavours explode in the mouth, where it is open, full-bodied, and velvety with an intense, long, complex finish. Available in Jeroboam Bottle. (1 x 3 Litres)

Best's VICTORIA Chardonnay Victoria Australia
Description: Best's winery was established on the banks of the Concongella Creek in 1866 by Henry Best, who knew little about wine, but whose capacity for work was prodigious, so the winery flourished. In 1920 the enterprise was purchased by neighbour and second-generation vigneron, Frederick P Thomson. Under the Thomson family, the Best's name continues to thrive. Fourth generation winemaker, Viv Thomson and son, Ben, continue to combine traditional methods with today's technology. Forward thinking and a no-conpromise approach to quality creates wine of integrity, and Best's are renowned for highly individual, long-living wines which reflect the distinctive characteristics of the region. That it is still in the hands of the Thomson's is a tribute to the tenacity of this family, but it is their ability to assess and fully exploit the grape's potential that makes the wines so exceptional. In short the hard work begins in the vineyard and then the cellar. (6 x 75 cl)

Odfjell Vineyards ORZADA Cabernet Franc Maipo Valley Chile
Description: Over 20 years ago, the pioneering Norwegian Armador, Dan Odfjell discovered and fell in love with a small corner of the famous Maipo Valley, Chile. Born of rain in Bergen, Norway, he could not resist the attraction of the austral sun in this Virgilian setting. Serendipity would later show that he had found land in Chile's premium red wine producing valley, where vitis vinifera has been cultivated since the 17th century. Here a soothing coastal breeze produces a microclimate conducive to distinct and beautiful wines on the 85 hectares planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. This hand harvested Cabernet Franc has a little Cabernet Sauvignon , is partly aged 10 months in American and French oak barrels. A dense almost black colour on the nose emerges a complex and abundant blend of mature fruit, with blueberry and plum together with a touch of mint and vanilla. Excellent structure on the palate with fresh yet mature fruit that knit harmoniously with oak giving way to a velvety, long and persistent finish. (6 x 75 cl)
