Sanford Winery LA RINCONADA Pinot Noir Santa Ynez California
Description: Winemaker Tasting Notes Elegantly styled, with rich, creamy, yet understated, earthy berry, mineral, anise and wild berry flavors that turn delicate on the finish. Has enough tannin and depth to cellar short-term. Drink now through 2007. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,300 cases made. Planted in 1997, La Rinconada Vineyard is adjacent to the old Sanford & Benedict Vineyard and shares its soil and climate. The main difference here is the clonal selection. The Rinconada is made from Dijon clones 777, 667 and 115 for an expansive richness rarely found in Pinot Noir. This wine has been lauded as one of the finest Pinot Noirs available. (6 x 75 cl)

Quinta do Zambujiero ZAMBUJEIRO Alentejo Portugal
Description: From 30 year old vines in this 30 ha estate comes a wine made from 67% Touriga Nacional, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Aragonez and 11% Alicante Bouschet. Great care is taken from the vineyard to the winery and the handpicked grapes are selected by hand, then undergo cold pre-fermentation, fermentation in wooden fermenters, and spend 24 months barrel ageing in new French oak, finally bottling without filtration and fining. Deep, saturated purple-coloured wine with an intense nose showing notes of flowers, black fruits, gaining complexity with ventilation. On the dense and concentrated palate sweet fruit extract dominate, while the complex tannic structure culminates in a long elegant finish. Limited Availability. (6 x 75 cl)

Preece Shiraz Victoria Australia
Description: Tasting Note Ripe and juicy Shiraz with plenty of black and red fruit character lightly oaked to add some vanilla, toast and spice notes to the plum pudding and raspberry notes. 14.6% Victorian Shiraz, the stuff from Melbourne rather than the 1880s, is a touch lighter than the big boys from the Barossa but is still packed with smooth red and black berry fruit. The cooler climate means the wine is fresh and juicy with a smooth, easy-drinking style. Toby Barlow has crafted a cracking example , using grapes grown in the same vineyards as the flagship Mitchelton wines, making this a great value wine with real pedigree. Producer Profile Made at the Mitchelton winery in Victoria , the Preece wines take their name from Australian wine legend Colin Preece who was one of the first people to spot and cultivate Victoria's potential for winemaking back in the early 1970s. The wines are made with all the care and attention to detail you'd expect of winemaker Toby Barlow and his team and reflect Victoria's cooler climate with an elegant, approachable style in contrast to the bigger blockbuster wines from elsewhere in Oz. Jeremy Oliver described the range in his Australian Wine Annual 2005 as (6 x 75 cl)
