Description: Don Maximiano Founders Reserve displays spicy blackberry aromas and deep earthy characters, while the oak ageing contributes integrated notes of toasted almonds, vanilla and coffee. On the palate, the ripe berry fruit is reminiscent of blackberry pie, together with black cherry, coffee and vanilla. Rich cigar, leather and an intriguing note of ripe black olives add complexity. Turner TINPOT HUT Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc NZ
Description: The Tinpot Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a concentrated and complex wine with powerful passionfruit and blackcurrant flavours, with underlying grapefruit and mineral notes. This wine is pleasingly rich and powerful with a well balanced acidity that leads to a long lingering finish. Winemaker Fiona Turner has worked with Matt Thomson on many of the most successful wines made in Marlborough. The tinpot hut that gave its name to Fiona’s brand is an old mustering hut in the remote hills between the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. These huts were used as a base for musterers, who were responsible for rounding up the sheep that had been in the hills from spring to autumn and bringing them down to the low paddocks for the winter. Fiona sourced the fruit primarily from her own vineyard in Blind River and combined it with grapes from some other carefully selected sites in Marlborough. After juice clarification, the wine was inoculated with pure, aromatic yeast strains and cool fermented. Once dry the wine was stabilised, filtered and bottled. (6 x 75 cl)

Petra EBO Val Di Cornia Suverto Rosso DOC
Description: Petra is located in the hills of Maremma in Tuscany and the 300 acre estate is controlled by the father and daughter team of Vittorio and Francesca Moretti. A medium intensity ruby red coloured wine. There is an intense aroma showing a vast array of red fruits such as cherry and blueberry; while the a woody note evident eucalyptus and other 'green' scents are distinct. Full, soft and persistent there is great harmony between acidity and tannins. The label of the Petra Val di Cornia wine illustrates the sky intersected by twelve lines, which represent the months of the year, and scattered with eight spheres, representing the lunar phases, and seven concentric rings for the days of the week. It is an image that sums up the relationship between the vineyard and the celestial bodies that influence its production.
