Louis Jadot LES CLIMATS Pinot Noir Reserve Bourgogne Rouge
Description: Available from Spring 2006. A fine blend of declassified Cru and Village wines. Louis Jadot Climats is a blend from different sites. As if making a mosaic, each year winemaker Jacques Lardiere selects individual 'climat' parcels, which can have village or even 1er Cru appellations. He combines these to make what he believes to be a greater whole. The final blend typifies the best of Burgundy from that vintage. It is a complex, vibrant wine, which is medium bodied with soft integrated tannins and balanced acidity and has a long finish of ripe red fruit characters with savoury slightly earthy notes. (12 x 75 cl)

Dry Creek Vineyards Fume Blanc Dry Creek Valley California
Description: Dry Creek Vineyard was the first new winery to be established in the Dry Creek Valley since the days of Prohibition, when David Stare arrived in 1972. Today, Dry Creek Vineyard wines are easy to recognise due to the spirited yacht paintings that appear on the label of each bottle. David Stare's pioneering vision launched a new era of premium wine production in the Dry Creek Valley. Inspired by his travels throughout the traditional wine regions of France and Germany, Dave's focus was ever on quality. To persue this focus, small batch winemaking has been adopted because individual-lot winemaking promotes increased knowledge about how to manage each vineyard while offering maximum blending options and enhanced quality control. Dry Creek Vineyard insists on crafting each lot of wine separately with each vineyard lot crushed, fermented, and barrel aged separately. Approximately 75-100 different wines are produced each vintage, where fining is the exception, not the rule. Dry Creek Vineyard's cornerstone wine continues to exemplify Sauvignon Blanc winemaking in its purest sense. Fermented 3 weeks 85% in stainless steel tanks and 15% barrel fermented it is then aged 3 months in French and American oak. This Flagship Fume Blanc is fragrantly scented with fresh mown grass and grapefruit notes. Clean and fresh on the palate, a blend of lemongrass, citrus and honeysuckle flavours is followed by light oak and a hint of cream and vanilla. (12 x 75 cl)

Devaux D de DEVAUX La Cuvee Brut Non Vintage Champagne
Description: Founded in 1846 by the brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux, the Champagne House of Devaux was taken over by Madame Augusta Devaux, one of Champagne's great characters who ran the company with much energy and skill. The positive impact that she made on the company lead it to be renamed Maison Veuve Devaux when she died. Today the House of Veuve A. Devaux is located in the magnificent setting of Domaine de Villeneuve and is part of co-operative that has some 800 growers contributing to the blends, making it the largest Champagne house in the region. Located in the Aube area of the Champagne region, Champagne Devaux has stayed true to its roots with the blends having a heavy leaning towards the softer Pinot Noir grape. This is reflected in the composition of the Champagne blend, made from 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay while it exclusively uses only the first pressing of the grapes. This stylish cuvee is then aged for a minimum of 3 years in the cellars before release. A classic Piont Noir nose showing white flowers is followed by citrus fruits flavours on the palate. These provide balance and complexity to this elegant Champagne with an enjoyable finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Brown Brothers Tempranillo Victoria Australia Australia
Description: THE WINE Tempranillo is an innovative varietal for Brown Brothers that's being released nationally for the first time due to its great success at Cellar Door. The wine has been developed in Brown Brothers Kindergarten Winery, a mini winery focused on trialling small batches of new varietal wines with big potential. In the glass this wine is a bright crimson red with aromas of red berries and plums, cassis and integrated fruit and oak. These characters follow through to the palate which has savoury characters, fine chalky tannins and firm acidity. An elegant, medium bodied style of wine that can be cellared in the medium term for 4 to 6 years from vintage. THE GRAPE VARIETY Tempranillo is said to be Spain's answer to Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the variety that puts the spine into a high proportion of Spain's most respected red wines and is the most widely planted grape variety in the highly regarded Rioja region, in the rugged north-east of the country. Its grapes are thick skinned and capable of making deep coloured, long lasting wines. Being an early ripening variety has no doubt given it an added edge and ability to thrive in the often harsh climate that predominates in the higher reaches of Rioja. TECHNICAL INFORMATION The Tempranillo grapes used to make this wine were grown at our own Heathcote Vineyard and other vineyards around Victoria. The fruit was harvested from mid March to early April at a range of baumé levels from 13.0º to 14.0º. The wine spent 12 to 18 months in a combination of new and two year old American oak barriques and puncheons before bottling. It was bottled with an alcohol of 14.0%, a pH of 3.5, and an acid level of 6.2 g/L. (12 x 75 cl)
