Neethlingshof Estate No Wood Chardonnay Stellenbosch RSA
Description: Very healthy grapes are picked at optimum ripeness, and are then partly fermented on the lees. The wine is pale, with medium depth, clear and bright straw- coloured. On the nose this Chardonnay produces a bouquet that is youthful and fruity: soft, peachy, with limey, oaky undertones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied in the style of a white Burgundy, with subtle but exotic flavours of toast, lime, pear and almond that linger on the finish. This attractive all-round wine can be enjoyed with a wide variety of poultry or fish, vegetables in creamy sauces, as well as salads dressed with Balsamic vinegar and walnut oil. Description: The grapes for Cepparello are picked from the best sites on the Isole e Olena estate in Chianti Classico. The concept and style of Cepparello was developed by Paolo De Marchi over a period beginning in the mid-1970’s. Paolo is a fourth generation winemaker and his vineyards are superbly tended. The vineyards are situated 400 metres above sea level, facing south-west. The grapes were harvested by hand, usually during the second and third week in October, once they reach complete ripeness. Description: The Bergsig Estate has been in the Lategan family since 1843. De Wet Lategan is the sixth generation winemaker and has obtained a BSc degrees in Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch, before joining the family firm in 1990. His brothers Louis and Plum manage the vineyards. Their father Prop Lategan is still very active in the general management and promotion of the wines from his beautiful 400 Ha farm in the foothills of Bainskloof Mountain. Bergsig Estate lies at the narrow funnel-like entrance to the Breede River Valley. The regular afternoon South-easterly breezes have a moderating effect on the summer heat and ensures cool picking temperatures throughout the day.
