Forest Hill Winery INDIS Shiraz Rose Western Australia
Description: One of Western Australia's newest labels represents two of the state's oldest families. Indeed, it could be said that the wines of Forrest Hill, from its 24.5ha Karriedale vineyard at the southern end of Margaret River, are steeped in history. The Indis wines are made at the Forest Hill winery by Larry Cherubino, one of Australia's most successful and highly regarded young winemakers. The Forest Hill winery was completed in 2003 and has state of the art technology to ensure a best practice approach from crushing right through to bottling. Indis offers a select range of handcrafted wines made from fruit grown in Western Australia's leading cool climate viticultural regions. This Rose has enticing aromas of strawberries and fresh herbs with a full palate and a mouth filling concentration of red berry fruit flavours alongside a mouth-wateringly racy acidity that adds balance, crispness and length. Domaine Chandon de Briailles LES LAVIERES 1er Cru Savigny-les-Beaune
Description: The de Nicolay family has owned the domaine since 1834 when they bought the Manoir. Today Claude de Nicolay Drouhin, who took over from her mother, Comtesse Nadine, in 1990, oversees the viticulture and viniculture. By common consent she has continued to raise the standards of the estate to new heights. The vineyard is spread over the communes of Savigny, Pernand and Aloxe Corton. There are some 13 hectares, planted mainly with Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay in "Ile des Vergelesses", "Corton Bressandes" and, a very recent addition, "Charlemagne". Winemaking follows traditional practice: red grapes are macerated for five days before the alcoholic fermentation in open cement tanks. The free -run wine is then settled in stainless steel before moving to cask (6 x 75 cl)
