Giacomo Ascheri VIGNA DEI POLA Barolo Piemonte
Description: The Giacomo Ascheri Cellars originated in La Morra: in that area, where a place called “Ascheri” still exists, in the early 19th century the first vines were planted and the first wines produced. In 1880 the winery was moved from La Morra to Bra, where it is still situated today. In a world where wines are generally produced with the same grapes, the same technology, the same wood for ageing and above all the same consultants, Ascheri's aim is to obtain a wine which is the expression of the vineyard it comes from, the grapes it was made of, and above all Giacomo Ascheri own ideas. In order to achieve this, Giacomo Ascheri have chosen a natural approach, with a moderate use of technology, without changing the nature of the wine with special procedures. They have attached new importance to old oak barrel ageing making choices entirely by ourselves. 100% Nebbiolo hand harvested in early October from the Pisapola vineyard in Verduno. This wine is aged 4 months in stainless steel tanks followed by 18 months in oak, 50% old Slavonian, 50% new Allier and a further 10 months in the bottles. This wine is an intense garnet red colour and has an ethereal and elegant bouquet, with ripe fruit and violet notes. Wine with an intense garnet red colour and has an ethereal and elegant bouquet, as well as ripe fruit and violet notes. Round and powerful this velvety wine has excellent persistence as well as being an austere, but harmonious and pleasant wine with a great finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Francois Mikulski Meursault AC
Description: Francois Mikulski has 8 hectares of vineyards in Pommard and Meursault, with new cellars directly behind the great Comte Lafon. These cellars are impressive and inside there are some 300 barrels, mostly new. While his wine style holds back on the use of new oak only using small proportions in the village and 1er Cru wines the result is a restrained wine with steely concentration and elegance. The Poruzots vineyard is a little lower than Genevrieres vineyard and closer to the village this wine is a typical Meursault great aromas and flavours of white fruit, spice and white flowers. The rich mineral style with great balancing acid follows through the complex finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Gilbert Picq Chablis
Description: A very quality concious domaine run by brothers Didier and Pascal, based in the small village of Chichee. Great care is taken to produce a wine with concentration and character. The Picq family knows that quality begins in the vineyard and through careful training and pruning, they have given this Chablis the breeding of a premier cru. Didier Picq keeps yields very low, so the wine is always nervy, flinty, and minerally. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Lynch Bages 5eme Cru Classe Pauillac
Description: Overlooking the Gironde estuary at the entrance to Pauillac the vines of Lynch-Bages are located on the Bages plateau, on one of the finest gravelly rises in the appellation. The estate once belonged to the famous Lynch family, of Irish origin, and was acquired by Jean Charles Cazes in 1934. His grandson, Jean-Michael Cazes, restructured the estate in 1974 adding state of the art winemaking equipment, while keeping the former wooden vats as a reminder of the nineteenth century. The grapes are all hand picked and then carefully sorted before crushing. A very strict selection is made prior to blending and the wine is traditionally aged in oak barrels for 15 months before bottling. Garonne gravel. (12 x 75 cl)
