Description: The 174 ha estate has mainly north facing slopes on fertile granite soil with an ideal climate for quality grapes. In the South African prestigious Veritas awards in 1999, Kaapzicht were awarded a double gold and two gold medals. Kaapzicht is situated up in the Bottelary Hills with magnificent views towards Table Mountain. The farm was first mentioned in 1712 and was purchased by the Steytier family in 1946. The Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc are made separately in the reductive method, the juice is given up to 24 hours skin contact and 2 and a half months on the lees before sulphuring up. The two wines are then blended together to produce the best COMBINATION of both cultivars. This rich wheat-Champagne coloured wine is a blend of 70% Chenin Blanc and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. A zesty blend with aromatic tropical fruit aromas intertwined with the cut grass of the Sauvignon's characteristics. Green Herbs and fruit-salad flavours mingle with the gentle acid that gives this mouth-watering wine a finish that ends on a strong flavourful, almost off-dry note. (12 x 75 cl)
