Description: Named after the 7th moon of Uranus Portia, and in Latin meaning 'Offering', is a selection of premium red wines from Bodegas Faustino. Portia Prima is the second wine to be released by the Bodega from their winery in Ribera de Duero. Portia Prima is the result of a meticulous selection of Tinta Fina del Pais , from the the best plots in the vineyard. Once in the winery , the wine undergoes 15 months ageing in new French Oak and after light fining with egg whites the wine is aged a further 8 months in the bottle before release. A deep cherry-red wine with youthful hues at the rim, it is showing intense aromas of ripe dark fruit that blend into the wooded aromas from the new oak and develop against a background of peppercorns. Hints of vanilla accompanied by toasty and balsamic notes produce a meaty style in the mouth while the sweet, agreeable tannins develop over the long finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Continuing the principle of exacting quality standards a new revolutionary winery has been designed by the famous Architect Lord Norman Foster. The direct result of this forward thinking is an intense, cherry-red wine with aromas of blackberries. Description: Bodegas Ventosilla, which is situated just a few kilometres from Aranda de Duero, was purchased in 1989 by a group of businessmen from Madrid. 1997 saw the release of their first wines and many people from Ribera del Duero believe that this bodega is going to be one of the most important in the region. This Crianza is a blend of Tinta Fina 95%, Cabernet Sauvignon 3% and Merlot 2%. It is fermented in stainless steel vats at 26ºC and macerated for 15 days. It then remains in American oak casks for 12 months followed by a period of 6 months in French oak vats and 12 months in the bottle. Ruby red colour with intense iodised undertones, the wine has medium opaqueness, a good body and is perfectly clean. A tremendously complex and personal bouquet, at first, it offers aromas of fruit, forest and even flowers, which then grow into more powerful aromas with the oxygenation in the glass, which gives it a unique personality. The tannins are generous, pleasant and bring together the wood and the wine in an unbeatable way, while it offers vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, nuts with a lasting velvety finish. (12 x 75 cl)
