Hill Smith and Grosset MESH Eden Valley Riesling
Description: Two Eden Valley vineyards were selected for this project, then the grapes from each vineyard were 'pedantically divided' by hand picking alternate rows into yellow and blue buckets on the same day. The two separate parcels were then pressed and fermented in the Grosset and Yalumba wineries respectively. The final wine was assembled after individual components, and combinations of each were all jointly assessed. Given both Grosset's and Yalumba's history with Stelvin closures, it was only natural that this wine should be bottled under Stelvin. The name of the wine is mesh, intended to reflect the joining or fusion of ideas, but as it's turned out, it also most aptly describes how the wine has come together,' says Jeffrey Grosset. This unusual partnership brought together two passionate and acclaimed Riesling vignerons (6 x 75 cl)

Yalumba HAND PICKED Shiraz Viognier Barossa Valley South Australia
Description: The concept of blending Shiraz and Viognier is not new. It is derived from the great French wine region of Northern Rhone, in particular, the Cote Rotie area. Cote Rotie has often been described as one of France's finest and most perfumed red wines. W I N E S T Y L E Yalumba Hand Picked Shiraz + Viognier 1999 is deep cherry red in colour with purple hues. Lifted floral aromatics surround ripe fleshy plums, chocolate and dried fruits. On the palate, fine tannins support the intense flavours of ripe cherries, liquorice, anise and violets. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will benefit from medium term cellaring. The addition of Viognier to Shiraz intensifies the colour, adds an extra dimension and a wonderful fragrance to the bouquet, and brings softness to the rich and powerful Barossa Shiraz. This rare blend from Yalumba of 87% Shiraz and 13% Viognier is 100% Barossa, with the majority of the fruit sourced from the Eden Valley. (6 x 75 cl)

Bleasdale Vineyards Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Creek Australia
Description: Produced by Australia's second oldest family of winemakers, the Potts family, in Langhorne Creek near Adelaide. The cooler climate here ensures a ripe yet restrained and characterful red. Blending Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon together is classically Australian and this wine is a great example of how these two varieties complement each other so well. Comprising 51% Shiraz and 49% Cabernet Sauvignon the wine displays rich ripe plummy, berry and spice characters from the Shiraz complemented with fragrant herb and mint flavours from the Cabernet. Fine tannins lengthen the palate and tasty oak, from 12 months maturation in french and american oak barrels, adds further complexity to the blend. (12 x 75 cl)
