Sarantos and Constantina Moularadellis developed a small vineyard and founded Kingston Estate during the 1960s and 1970s, they brought the food-and-wine-loving traditions of their sun drenched Greek homeland to the equally sun-drenched Riverland district of South Australia. The wine shows good depth, being medium red to red/purple in colour. On the nose there is abundant raspberry, cherry and plum jam characters. These continue onto the palate which is rich and warm with soft fleshy tannins, fresh berry fruit and a hint of sweet French oak. After crushing,the juice was fermented on skins with pumpovers daily to ensure maximum extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was matured with 75%French oak and 25%American oak. (12 x 75 cl)

Making sure the berries were picked at their optimum levels, night harvesting was employed at approximately 13° to 14° Baume thus avoiding any likelihood of harsh phenolics or loss of flavour. Small batch fermenting in static fermenters with a neutral yeast has enabled full fruit flavours to develop.
