Albert Bichot was founded in 1831-it is still actively managed by the Bichot family. They are both growers and negodants, paying equal attention to the negociant wines as they do to their own; however, it is the company's domaines in which we have greatest interest. Over the years Bichot has carefully cherry-picked and purchased domaines and properties in Burgundy which have either an existing reputation or at least the potential for greatness. Once purchased, each domaine is put under the control of a grower/winemaker who enjoys a large degree of autonomy from the parent company. The result is a selection of outstanding domaine wines of great integrity, superb character and, most importantly, a true ‘gout de terroir' (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Henri Boillot, brother of Jean-Marc, is making some of the most exciting wines in Burgundy at the moment. He has his own family vineyards as well as a negociant business, Maison Henri Boillot based in Meursault. Henri is driven in his pursuit of great wine, only small quantities of these wines are available as the vines yield is restricted in favour of quality over quantity. This results are evident in the stunning complexity, concentration and purity of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. Peach and spices on the nose with brisk, sharply delineated flavours of peach, nuts and spices. Very intense wine, with terrific acid cut and finishing spice.

Description: Fruit from 15 different growers goes into this wine, which is traditionally vinified in the barrel for 15 months. During which time it undergoes a malolactic fermentation to give it that classic buttery and creamy flavour, so typical of this appellation. (6 x 75 cl)
