Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence in the wines they produce. Their wines are a witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Domain Baron de Rothschild skills have served other exceptional Bordeaux wines and vineyards, which share the same values of humility and high standards. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of Chateau Duhart-Milon, 4th growth wine from Pauillac, of Chateau Rieussec, 1er growth Sauternes wines, of Chateau l'Evangile in Pomerol, of Chateau Paradis Casseuil in Entre-Deux-Mers and of Chateau Peyre-Lebade, Bordeaux wines in Haut Medoc. Recently, Domain Baron de Rothschild, in 1999, purchased Chateau d'Aussieres. Aussieres Red is a marriage of Languedoc and Bordeaux varietals, brought together in varied proportions depending on the vintage. The density and elegance of the Cabernets and Merlot are associated with the strength of the Syrah and, sometimes depending on vintage, the character of the Mourvedre. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Mourvedre has produced a lovely intense dark red coloured wine. Showing a very open, expressive nose with a complexity of aromas, from each grape variety, melds together with notes of cedar wood, cherries and spices. Full and supple on the front palate, with lots of fresh fruit flavours this wine is backed up with fine, ripe tannins giving way to a lengthy finish that shows the characteristic elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Chateau de Campuget CUVEE PRESTIGE Blanc Viognier Vin de Pays du Gard
Description: Chateau de Campuget, which belongs to the Dalle family since 1941, is producing great A.O.C. Costieres de Nimes wines. The vineyard of 160 hectares is situated in the heart of the A.O.C. area, between Nimes and Arles, a few kilometres from the right side of the Rhone river. The main characteristic of the 'terroir' is its soil , formed by an accumulation of round stones that had been rolled by many overflows of the Rhone river during the quaternary era. It allows the grapevines to establish their roots deep enough to find the water they need for growing. At the same time they profit of the sunny Mediterranean climate, essential for the good maturation of the grapes. Although equipped with stainless-steel tanks and modern tools, Chateau Campuget wines are made and matured in a traditional way. From its own bottling-line to the air-conditioned warehouse, it can control the quality of the wines from the vineyard to the bottle. Delicious peach and apricot with good freshness and a long finish. (6 x 75 cl)
