Alain Bonneau Chateau Du Poyet Vielles Vignes Muscadet de S-et-M Sur Lie
Description: Chateau du Poyet is one of the rare chateau existing in this area as it is owned by the Bonneau family who only recently started doing their own bottling. Early picking of the grapes is undertaken, sometimes before full ripening, to get a good acidity, while there is no malolactic fermentation. To preserve maximum freshness the wine is bottled at the Chateau straight from the vat off its lees without any racking. This 100% Melon De Bourgogne is a pale yellow colour, with a touch of complexity on the nose brought about by ageing on the lees. The palate is well balanced with surprisingly good weight and concentration followed by a clean, crisp finish. Available in half bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)

Chateau de Bois Benoist Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie
Description: Christian Luneau has 26 hectares of south-facing, chalky-clay vineyards where the vines average 35 years old and yields are a mere 50hl/ha. The wine is bottled at the start of May, reasonably late for a Mise sur Lie, allowing the wine's fruit to develop on the lees. It has a surprisingly full colour, a complex nose of dried fruit and floral aromas with an underlying minty and mineral character. The palate's mouthwatering acidity is tempered by a real richness and depth of flavour. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau de l'Oiseliniere Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie
Description: The 10 hectare vineyard is uniquely situated facing south on a dome shaped hill overhanging the bank of the river Sevre and close to the confluence of the Sevre and the Maine. The vineyard itself looks like a little island and is surrounded by natural coppice. This enables the site to be managed ecologically, fighting pests and deseases with natural methods. Pests are treated with specific hormones so they cannot breed and mildew is only fought with Bordeaux mixture. Part of the harvest is picked by hand and the vines used are over forty years old. The wine follows the traditional method of maturation on the lees and the 'batonnage' process to develop aromas and complexity. All the wine is estate bottled in the Spring following the harvest. (12 x 75 cl)
