Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Vin de Pays de la Principaute d'Orange
Description: Domaine de la Vieille Julienn's Jean-Paul Daumen is a totally driven man. He will sacrifice anything for quality in his wines and all his wines, from vin de pays up to his much sought after Chateauneuf's, are labours of love. He uses 225 litre barrels from Bordeaux and this results in wines with an ideal stylistic compromise between modern and traditional. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Les Hautes Cances LA TERRE DE CHEYENNE Vin de Pays de la Principaute d'Orange
Description: The truly charming Anne-Marie and Jean-Marie Astart are both doctors. However, when Anne-Marie's father decided to retire Jean-Marie swapped patients for vines, and took on the family's 16 hectare estate. With an intelligent and patient approach, and a great willingness to learn, Jean-Marie has, since 1992, become a top winemaker in the area. The estate is producing wines of real concentration, elegance, complexity and depth. These are not juicy-fruit, simple concoctions, they are wines that really engage the palate. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Richaud Cotes du Rhone AC
Description: The Cairanne, a blend of 50% Grenache from old vines and 50% Syrah and Mourvèdre, is a mini-masterclass in Rhône wines and, given the quality, a good value one! Its bright fruit and superb balance make it stand out in any tasting of Rhône wines. The vineyards cover 30 hectares outside the village of Cairanne, on the road to Rasteau in the Côtes du Rhône. The vines are bush trained and low yielding. Richaud might be situated closer to the Languedoc than Burgundy, but stylistically he sees himself as having more in common with the Cote d’Or and is dismissive of what he describes as the over extracted styles of the south. The key, he says, is balance, and this begins in the vineyard. He has also finished his new winery, with a succession of smaller tanks, which gives him greater flexibility for blending smaller parcels of wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Soumade Merlot VDP de la Principaute d'Orange France
Description: Domaine Soumade has produced a smoth Merlot with plenty of red fruit and oak flavours with 50% of the fruit spending upto 18 months in oak. This has produced a lovely red coloured wine with a nose of ripe fruit that develops on the palate through to the lingering finish. One of the few varietally-labelled wines of the Rhone, it could never have the name of the village on the label because it is not an officially recognised varietal for the zone. (12 x 75 cl)
