This 5 ha estate is located at Limony and Tournon, on a light soil of schist and gneiss on granite bedrock. Once in the winery this Shiraz wine will spend 9 months in oak casks to produce a deep ruby red with violet hues. The bouquet is both rich and concentrated showing very ripe red fruits, sweet spices and liquorice notes to finish. The palate is harmonious and frank with rounded tannins through to the long finish. The name of this Saint Joseph wine comes from Victor Hugo’s 'Legende des siecles': in the 9th century, the Grand Pompee, faithful companion to Charlemagne, fought at his side against the Moors, on the right bank of the Rhone. A famous line remains from this battle: 'and wine, that wine beloved of the Grand Pompee'. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Maison Bouachon LA ROUVIERE Tavel Rose
Description: The Bouachon family have maintained their stewardship of some of the finest wines in the Rhone since 1898. La Rouviere, the Tavel in Maison Bouachon's collection, has made its mark as one of the most outstanding representatives of the appellation and is the only one authorised to produce rosé exclusively. Light, filtered soils rich in limestone are characteristic of the vineyards of Tavel which, with the help of the Mistral and the sun, constitute an ideal terroir for the production of rosé wines. Four grape varieties making-up La Rouviere the Grenache grape dominates the blend with Syrah, Cinsault and a little Clairette. The grapes are hand-picked and rigorously sorted to produce a wine with an elegant rosé and glints of amber colour. A highly expressive bouquet, both fruity and floral, slightly spiced, with notes of blackberry and redcurrant is evident. This has produced a wine with a well-balanced sensation on the palate, fleshy and dense, with hints of spice. (6 x 75 cl)

Clos Des Cazaux CUVEE DES TEMPLIERS Vacqueyras
Description: The domaine was founded in 1905 by Gabriel Archimbaud and is now run by Maurice Vache and his two sons Jean-Michel and Frederic. The Archimbaud's and Vache's are among the longest established families in Vacqueyras. The Estate is part of a property dating back to the 12th century and belonged to 'Les Chevaliers de l'Ordre des Templiers'. Additionally, on the property sits an ancient Moorish Tower, the Tower of Sarrazine that unfortunately today is in ruins. Today, this highly rated property now owns 25 hectares in Vacqueyras and 15 hectares in Gigondas. The vines planted are 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre and aged between 40-50 years old, and the annual production is only 8,800 to 10,000 cases and therefore this wine is produced in limited quantities. The wines are vinified traditionally with no oak ageing and the Vacqueyras Cuvée de Templiers is a rare wine made from only Syrah, the finesse and superb varietal definition of spicy fruit is more reminiscent of Hermitage than Southern Rhone. (12 x 75 cl)
